About this tournament
2 rounds of play
The Junior Showdown at Zube is an annual, PDGA C-Tier that is only offered to those eligible for the junior divisions. We are excited to be back for our second year after a phenomenal inaugural event last year! Our goal with this event is the same as our Young Guns youth league, to give the junior players a setting just for them so that they can grow in this sport and have a spotlight just for them. This event would not be possible if not for some amazing sponsors who will be listed as contributions are finalized.
On to the event information, this event will be a 2 round PDGA C-Tier at Zube Park in Hockley, TX (address listed at the bottom) on Dec. 16. Listed below are all necessary details to parents and players:
THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY FREE!!! This means no entry fee to the players while still getting a full tournament experience.
This event is trophy only. We will have 1st place trophies for each division regardless of how many competitors are in the division.
Free player packs: 1 X-out Artist Stamp Lone Star Bluebonnet, 1 Special Edition Lone Star Bearkat, 1 Hooligan Vibe
PDGA live score will be official scorecard of this event. Code: jrzube
Round 1 will begin at 9:30 am with a players meeting at 9:00 am. This will allow us to go make sure every card has a scorekeeper since we know younger kids will not have the means to keep their own score.
Lunch will be provided for at least the players, reach out to the email listed with any questions or concerns.
Round 2 will begin an hour after the last card is finalized from Round 1. Exact time will be posted (Houston Disc Golf and HDG Young Guns FB groups) and announced in person once determined.
We will have 2 different layouts in play
A-pool: MJ/FJ18, MJ/FJ15, MJ/FJ12
B-pool: MJ/FJ10, MJ/FJ08, MJ/FJ06
Each layout will have its own color flags on the teeing areas for clear designation. Hole rules will be on the scorecard.
Free CTPs! We will have several CTPs on each layout with discs as prizes.
The trophy ceremony will follow Round 2 with some Ring of Fire rounds for all competitors who want to participate!
We will have water stations throughout the course but it is still recommended that you bring your own water.
