I hope this email finds you well! I just wanted to touch base with everyone before Sunday and go over a few things.
First and foremost, I want to thank you for your support of this event! 48 players at a casual and unsanctioned event like this is outstanding and we couldn’t have done it without you! This event raised $480+ for this year’s 4th Annual Josie’s Journey Open, so again, THANK YOU!!!
We are running Sunday as a flex start which means you can get your round in anytime starting at 10:00AM and your player pack discs are the only discs allowed to use for this tournament. If you know others playing you can set up a time to meet to play amongst yourselves, or you can just show up and jump on a random card. I will be hanging all day and playing last, so I can help everyone check-in and make sure you have someone to play with if need be. I already have all of you uploaded to UDisc for live scoring, but I will help you set up your card before your group takes off. If you come early, you do not have to stay until the end as I will be contacting winners and making arrangements with them the following day. I have decided to do an ace-pot for Sunday as well, which will be a $5 entry. We will put out an “ace-pot” CTP on hole 9/18. In the event no one hits an ace, we will pay 50% of the pot to whoever is holding the CTP at the end of the day, with the other 50% going to JJO. This will allow you to play early and not have to hang out all day for a throw off. Of course, if someone DOES hit an ace, we will payout 100% to that person(s).
I will have a layout sheet detailing course OB’s and such for you the day of, but I will attach that here as well. You can find that in the pictures section. Yes, if you are playing in the AM division, on hole 3/12, you can tee-off from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty (shooting 2). I decided to do this in case anyone was afraid of losing one of your discs, however, you can still throw from the normal tee and go for the birdie if you wish to. For the PRO division you will play the normal tee for 3/12.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at [email redacted] or 256-443-0833! I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday! Bring an umbrella! Thanks, fam!
