Howdy howdy howdy people!
First off, thank you as always for supporting my events this year. I can never say it enough but for reals, thank you. I started doing this back in June and I had no idea if it would ever get off the ground. I'd figured I'd just be hanging around at the park while people pointed and laughed. Who's laughing now? Ha-HA! It's me, I am laughing now.
IMPORTANT! Check your tee times, if you are in a card that has less than 3 players, you may have to wait until we get the minimum of 3 people to play. As of right now, it is the 10am card with 1, 11:10 card with 2 and that looks like it for right now, unless someone else signs up at a time with less than 3 people in it. You can show up earlier for your tee time so I can make accommodations and get you out quicker. Otherwise, there could be a wait, just as a heads up.
Rules:
This is a sanctioned PDGA event, and as such, we will be following the official rules that can be read at
www.pdga.com/rules
The main ones I want to call out for this event are:
No boozing or recreational drugs while playing your round. If you choose to do it before or after, that's between you and your higher power of choice. But during the round, there should be no consumption of any kind.

Be sure to mark your lies before playing your next shot. I have seen quite a few people just pick up their disc and putt without marking the lie of the disc. I get that this is a casual atmosphere but it is a sanctioned event. People can call you on these and you can incur penalties. These flex events are also designed with the intention for you to get yourself tournament ready and understand the rules/procedures of it all. Either leave your disc on the ground and throw another, or mark your lie.

The course rules say the 2 meter rule is in effect, for this event, it is not. If your disc gets stuck in a tree above 2 meters, mark your lie below it, confirm with the card that it is an accurate mark, and then throw your next shot without penalty.
If someone on the card has lost their disc, then everyone on the card has to help that person find their discs. A player can call 3 minutes, and if the disc has not been found after 3 minutes, then the disc is considered lost and you have to throw from the previous lie with a stroke penalty.

The hole by hole breakdown is going to be pretty short because it's not that treacherous at Cumberland. Basically, the short of it is everything is playing as a par 3. You will start at hole 5 after check in, and loop around where you will finish on hole 4.
What I will call out here is that if you make it onto the street or beyond, you would be considered out of bounds and will play it from where it was last in bounds with a stroke penalty.
Hole 4 and Hole 18 have water that comes into play, this is where the lost disc rule becomes important. The water is casual water, so if you throw your disc into the water, and you find it, you can take casual relief straight back. If you can't find the disc, then go back to the previous lie and take it with a stroke penalty.

Please wait until the card on the hole in front of you has teed off before you drive. The course is a bit bunched up and it would be lousy to have someone get hit. Always yield to the higher card.
There will be casual players on the course with us, so please bear in mind that it could be distracting. As much as I would like to have an official atmosphere around here, the park will be open for others to use. Take a few moments and regain your composure, and if need be, let them play through so you can take the time you need.
If there are any questions or issues while you are on the field, please feel free to send a text or call me.
At 2pm, I will be on the last card to go out so I will not be there to close things out for some of you. Please make sure that you confirm your scores.
Speaking of scores, we are doing all digital scoring for this event. I will have paper cards to hand out if you wish to use them but please have someone do the live scoring at
https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/score/login
The pass code will be given to you on Sunday when you check in.
Speaking of checking in, tournament central will be at Hole 16. If you are not familiar with where that is at, hole 1 is by the intersection of Jimmy Creek Road and Campground Lane. Just continue further south on Jimmy Creek Road and you should see a line of cars parked there. Find myself or Steven Gauthier and we will get you checked in. If you get lost, you can always call my cell and I'll direct you in.
I better wrap this one up but just wanted to thank you all very much for this. Special shout out thanks to those of you who tipped the TD and helped me to offset some of the costs of these events. I try my best to make this a break even thing so I can give as much back to the community as I can without breaking my bank, the outpouring of support from you all on this has been outstanding and I thank you for that! You guys are awesome.
Lastly, I want to give a huge shout out to Disc Revolution for their unyielding support in doing payouts for the AMs. Those of you that have been taking home "money" from them, I hope that you all have enjoyed their selection and found the process to be easy. If there is anything I can do to make it easier, give me some feedback and I'll be sure to iron it all out. From what I can tell, it's been going okay? As always, check them out at

Casey told me they got a bunch of stuff in recently so expect to see the website updated more frequently with some cool stuff.

Alright, I will see you all bright and early tomorrow morning at 8am when the first card is ready to go out.
Take care!
