Hello everyone and welcome to the virtual players meeting for the Ice Burrrg open 20201!
I am your tournament director for the event, Joshua Siwek.
Check-in starts at 7:30 am on Saturday and I will be to the park before that to ensure it’s open. Please come see me in the pavilion when you arrive so I can check you in. If you do not check in, you will not be put on a card.
For scoring, we will be utilizing the PDGA’s live scoring web app. You will be able to access the tournament by visiting
www.pdga.com/score on your smartphone and entering the access code IB2021. You will need to designate a player on your card to keep score each round.
The course is in fairly good shape considering the season, and I’d like to thank Alex Moser for shoveling and salting the tee pads this week. I’d also like to thank Doug Prizer for providing some carpet pads for the short tees on 5, 6, & 13.
MPO and MA1 divisions will be playing all holes from the long tees, while all other divisions will play short tee pads on holes 5, 6, & 13.
The forecast for the rest of the week looks nice, but it is Michigan after all, and as such we will be allowing liberal use of the tee pads. Meaning if you don’t feel comfortable on the tee pads, including the carpet pads, you may tee off behind or to the side of them. Never in front of them.
We will be allowing LED lights, Glow Tape, and Ribbons to be attached to your discs. Meaning, that if you have discs taped up for glow league or with ribbons for deep snow, you do not have to remove them for tournament play.
We will be playing winter rules for frozen bodies of water, such as the pond in the middle of the park. Unless otherwise mentioned in the following hole by hole OB list, frozen water on the course will not be considered OB and you may play your lie as normal from it.
If anything about this changes, I will inform you on the day of the tournament.
Additional hole out of bounds list are as follows - these will be in the hole notes when you are doing scoring. Road OB lines will not be painted before the tournament, if you have any questions about a ruling, remember benefit always goes to the player. If there are additional questions, please bring it to my attention.
Hole 1: The RC track on the left side of the fair way is OB if you land in it.
Hole 2: Has no OB, there is no longer standing water on the left side of the fairway
Hole 3: In, or over the water long of the basket is OB.
Hole 4: Road and over long of the basket, and river and over behind the tee pad
Hole 5: No Ob, assuming the pond is frozen
Hole 6: Also no OB, assuming the pond is frozen
Hole 7: In the river on the right side of the fairway is OB
Hole 8: The creek and over, right side of the fairway is OB, the pond left is not.
Hole 9: No OB
Hole 10: In or over the creek long of the basket is OB
Hole 11: The pavilion long of the basket is OB
Hole 12: No Ob, assuming the pond is frozen
Hole 13: No Ob
Hole 14: No Ob
Hole 15: Road and over long of basket is OB
Hole16: Road and over on the right side of fairway, in the pavilion long of the basket are both OB
Hole 17: Road and over on the left side of the fairway is OB
Hole 18: Road and over long of the basket is OB
I think that does it, if you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to ask me at the tournament. See you all Saturday!
