Thanks for registering for the IAP Iron Man! We are looking forward to another great Disc Gauntlet event! Normally, we do a virtual player’s meeting on Facebook, however Facebook is not allowing to go live, so this will serve as the OFFICIAL PLAYERS MEETING.
Check In will begin at7:00am at Peru State College Disc Golf Course. Please come check in and report to your tee. We will tee off for the first round at 8am.
We have limited the field size to 45. This means ALL players will be playing on the same courses all 3 rounds. The course order will be: Round 1-Peru State College, Round 2-IndianCave State Park, Round 3- Arien’s Disc Golf Course (Auburn, NE). We will still provide time for everyone between each round.
While PDGA LiveScoring would be ideal, the cell phone service is Southeast is less than ideal in some parts, and I fear it will create more headaches. We will do paper scorecards. The person on the top of the card WILL keep score for the entire round and turnit into the TD at the end of the round. This is a COVID protocol, so please take this seriously.
The following divisions will receive a Disc Gauntlet stocking hat as their player pack item: MA3(Recreational), FA3 (Recreational Women), MA4 (NOVICE), FA4 (NOVICE WOMEN).There are no payouts for divisions receiving player packs. All other Amateur divisions will receive payouts to be used through Disc Gauntlet. Open divisions will receive cash payout via PayPal, and there has been $100 added to the Pro purse, courtesy of Zen Llama Disc Golf. Zen Llama will also be in Auburn following the 3rd Round. Payouts can not be used through them.
ALL PLAYERS should familiarize themselves with the PDGA COVID guidelines and best practices: https://www.pdga.com/pdga-documents/tour-documents/requirements-and-best-practices-pdga-sanctioned-play-during-covid-19Please wear your mask when checking in and when you are not able to adhere to social distancing. Use hand sanitizer. Do not handle other people’s equipment, and please no high fives, fist bumps, etc. Let’s all stay safe.
OB Rules (Please snapshot these to keep on your phone)
For these Iron Man events, we like to keep OB simple and the event relaxed.
NO 2 METER RULE. USE YOUR PROVISIONALS and ask the TD if you are unsure.
1st Round @ Peru:On/over Road surrounded by concrete, on/inside Gazebo(s) defined by wall, over fence (out of park) Sidewalks through park are safe. Hole 8 tee will be marked by flags, as there is no tee sign. Hole 9 tee will be marked by flags on sidewalk.
2nd Round @ IndianCave: On/over Road surrounded by concrete. There is optional drop zone on Hole2, you may opt to proceed to the drop zone w/ a 2 stoke penalty.
3rd Round @ Auburn:On/over Road surrounded by concrete.
At all 3 courses:please be mindful and pay attention to people on the tee in front of you. They have the right of way to throw first.
The baskets are homemade baskets and discs can fall out of the bottom, which is why this is an XC-Tier. Please watch each other's putts and use common sense when players on your card are completing their hole.
There are not any bathrooms available at any of the courses, so prepare accordingly.
Please bring enough water for the day, as there will not be any provided.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me!
Thank you!
