Good morning players,
Unfortunately at this time, it appears that the weather on Saturday will very likely be unsafe for the Huck of the Irish to take place. It being a temp course that requires considerable time to set up, and the potential for damage to the golf course caused by the forecasted wind and mud caused by teeing off on natural tees, the difficult decision has been made to postpone the event. We want the event to be run well, and for players to have an enjoyable and safe experience. Both of which could prove difficult based on the forecasts for Saturday or Sunday. We have in years past hosted an event at this course in the fall, and based on the schedule of other local events, have decided that moving this event to November 1st is the best solution. It will be renamed to the Hidden Valley Open and will now serve as the Finale for the Highland Rim Chainbreaker Series. This decision was not made lightly. Several alternative scenarios were considered and we feel this is the best solution. If you would like a full refund, I completely understand and will be happy to issue a refund upon request on Disc Golf Scene. However, our current plan is to keep the registration as is, so people who signed up on time, don’t lose their spot or have to pay the Paypal/Disc Golf Scene fees twice for essentially the same event. For those of you who decide to keep your spot, as a thank you for your patience and flexibility, I'm going to add an additional $5 to your player pack voucher and you will receive an extra 15% off your purchases to ParkIt Disc Golf the day of the event.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. I've been hosting tournaments for over a decade and this is the first time we've ever had to do something like this. I appreciate you and hope to see you soon.
