MANDATORY CHECK IN
Everyone must check on Saturday so we know you are there. Tournament HQ will be at the small shelter near hole 1 in the parking lot.
Park address (in case you need it): 550 Cavins Rd, Woodruff, SC 29388
PLAYERS MEETING and GROUPINGS
We will have a brief players meeting before your round for a group photo and last minute instructions. The board with groupings will not be set until after all have checked in. You will be given your starting hole after the players meeting.
FORMAT
Each player responsible for 50% of first throws(drives), other than that the tournament is normal captains’ choice doubles. Team must be Father/Grandfather/Uncle and Child/Grandchild/Niece/Nephew. If you have multiple people on a team, please see one of us during check in and we can explain to you how that will work.
LAYOUTS
Everyone plays to the yellow baskets. Do not play to any red basket.
BRONZE = you will play from all the RED tees. There are RED tees on all 18 holes and are marked by red flags. All of these are natural area tees (not turf or concrete).
SILVER and GOLD = you are playing from the short WHITE tees. These are turf or concrete.
OB
OB rules are posted on the event on disc golf scene. Remember this is a family friendly event. We are following all PDGA rules of play but If there is any grey area, give the benefit of the doubt to the player.
CASUAL AREAS
Excluding the creek which is marked by stakes, after the rain there may be some casual water. Treat any casual water as a casual area per PDGA rule 806.03. There are also some piles of tree debris out there as a result of the hurricane. Treat these areas also as casual areas per PDGA rule 806.03.
CTPs
We will have 3 CTP holes per Division. If you are starting on a CTP hole, please take the CTP flag/bag with you. If you are ending on a CTP hole, please bring the CTP flag and bag back in with you. This will greatly speed up the process at the end of the tournament.
SCORING
We will have scorecards for you when you check in. Paper scorecard is the ONLY scoring for the round, you must turn this in when you return, else we will not know your scores. On the scorecards there is a place to keep track of how many drives each player has taken. Use that so that you do not forget who has shots still to be taken. Attached is a photo of the card. Let us know if you have any questions about how to keep score.
If there are any ties for 1st, 2nd or 3rd we will have a sudden death playoff for the trophies via alternate tee shot format. Playoffs will start on hole 1. In the alternate tee shot format, only 1 player per team tees off on a hole. The player that threw the first hole then does not tee off on the next hole. Basically, one partner tees off on odd-numbered holes, while the other tees off on even-numbered holes. After the tee shot, the normal captain's choice is played. I will explain further to the teams if we have a sudden death playoff.
WATER
It will be hot outside so please plan accordingly. We will have water on hole 1 and hole 10 in coolers. But please bring some of your own water, so that we have enough for everyone, especially those playing in the gold division.
AWARDS
We will be doing CTP announcements and handing out trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each division after the round just as soon as we can get scores verified. Please be patient with us as we have playoffs if needed and finalize results. Please stick around to applaud the winners. This event is about family and the wonderful disc golf community we have in this area.
See you Saturday!
