First Light DGA presents the 2021 Horizon Open. It will be held at the Horizon Disc Golf Course, a private course located outside of Snowflake AZ. The course is on private land, the home of Michael and Wren Kothrade, Ija Kothrade's parents. Please be respectful of the land and hosts, so that we can continue to run events here.

Horizon is a very challenging, but fun, 27 hole, par 92 course in high-desert hilly terrain. Holes range in distance from 130ft to 860ft, The 27 holes total 10136ft. The baskets are of various make and quality. The tee pads are either dirt or stone. The terrain is rugged, undeveloped, full of trees and other hazards. Do not sign up if you can't handle these challenges.

There are a few rules for the Horizon course:
No Carts
No Glass
No Dogs
No Illegal Substances

There will be some onsite camping available for those that wish to camp. Camping will be in designated areas only. There is access to well water for drinking, an outhouse, and outdoor shower. The shower is solar-heated, so water may or may not be warm, depending on weather and usage.

We encourage players from the local area to commute, rather than camp, to free up camping space for those of us that travel long distances to this event.

There is a swimming pool accessible at two points during the course. In the event of hot weather, participants are welcome to take a break at the pool and cool off. Some players opt to golf in quick drying clothing so they can swim during the round. Swimming breaks during the round are completely optional, at the group's discretion.

Shortened Course for FA2 / MA3
Most divisions will be playing the full 27 hole course. However, this is too much for some players. The FA2 and MA3 divisions will be playing a shortened 18 hole loop that is less physically demanding.

Red Tees for FA1 - Advanced Women will play the 27 hole layout, with red (shortened) tees on some holes.

8/6/21 - Random Draw Doubles - 21 Holes - 1pm signup - $5 / player
8/7/21 - Checkin 8-9am - First round 9:30am tee off
8/8/21 - Final Round - 8:30am tee off less
