Everyone - I went out to check the course this afternoon and would recommend ribbons on your discs for the tournament. We have a fresh layer of powder from the last few days and with the wind drifting he snow and all the foot traffic tomorrow, this will make this locating discs without ribbons difficult to locate. The town has plowed the road, so there should be sufficient parking. Since we are doing a shot gun start at 9:15 - tee locations are published on the link below. Dress warm and see you tomorrow.

Virtual Players Meeting

Welcome to the 2021 GBDGC Ice Bowl. I would also like to thank the hole sponsors for their donation!

Now lets get to the details:

SAFTEY:
Face masks must be worn during check in and any time when social distancing can not be maintained.
Please maintain social distancing.
Do not handle other players equipment
Avoid contact with the baskets.

We are using live scoring via PDGA.com/score – password is ib21 one person should maintain a paper scorecard as a back up to the live scoring. Below is the link for information on live scoring.

Hole #6 has a sheet of ice under the snow near the basket and to the right, kids have been sleigh riding in that area – BE CAREFUL.

LAYOUT

We will be playing 18 holes for the first round (PDGA Rated) – since we are doing a shot gun start at 9:15 am patience will be required. Between the snow/ice and the large field of players, play will be slow. SAFTEY first, make sure the hole is clear before throwing. Also be aware of players coming off other holes.

MPO, MA50, MA1,MA2 play the normal layout.

MA3 FA1, FA2, FA3 – Will play their drive on hole #5 from the drop zone and drop zone on hole #16. This will speed up play.

ROUND 2 is optional as follows: Mulligan are available at $2 per extra throw. A trophy will be awarded to low Men's & Women's score for this round. We will play holes 1-7, 11, 1-18. We may additional holes if the field is larger than 48. We will use a paper scoring for this round.


SPEED OF PLAY

Speed of play is important, if a disc is not immediately located start the clock on a lost disc so as not to hold up play. I will request that groups playing hole 10 spot for hole 9 before teeing off. We will have spotter on the course to assist. Make sure all your disc are properly marked.

OUT OF BOUNDS AND MISSED MANDOS

No 2 meter Rule – Attaching ribbons to your disc is allowed.
Winter rules apply OB's are modified. All Mandos are still required. Go to Drop zone if missed.
The creek on hole 1, 3, 4 is OB, if its over or on the bank where a shot can not be safely thrown, the disc is out.

Hole 5 in the creek and completely surrounded by water only. Road and to the right of the road is inbounds.

Holes 8, 9 10,11, 12, 13 & 14 – the water on these holes are considered casual and a free drop no closer to the basket is allowed with no penalty.

Hole 16 – Pond is OB – Go to drop zone.

A group decision will decide in or out on close calls. Please give the benefit to the player.

PLAYOFFS
If there are any ties, we will start a playoff on hole #4 then #5, if required you would then go to hole #12 – 18 until the tie is broke. There will be normal OB for the tie break only, this means the road is OB on 4 and 5, 18. The playoff will use the normal tees for all divisions.

AFTER ROUND IS COMPLETE

We will provide a free lunch to everyone, donation of food or cash is requested but not required. We will do the awards for round 1 once all cards are complete. We we will also have a throw off for prizes during lunch. $2 per throw or 3 for $5. The prizes will be award prior to the start of round 2.

PRO will be paid via PAYPAL using the email provided at registration.

Ace Pool. If multiple aces are scored the pot will be split. If no ace is scored, the entire ace pool will go to The Tioga County Rural Ministry.

I will be sending out the Virtual Players Meeting tonight with all the details, watch you email - I will also post this on discgolfscene. A couple additional notes, the ace pool ($2) will be available when you sign in, if no one hits an ace the entire pool will go to the food bank. We are going to have a throw for prizes after the first round, this will last up to an hour. Here are a list of the prizes available, - $2 per throw or 3 for $5:
