March 6th is stop #6 in the 2021 Frozen Fingers on the Fairway Fund Raising Tour! Welcome to Ashtabula, Shoot the Freeze, we are forecast to stay in the mid to upper 20s, sunny, and believe it or not, there is going to be a Breeze!
For those of you new to Lakeshore Park, there is always a Breeze! One of the last courses that Steady Ed Headrick (PDGA # 001) helped to design before he passed in 2002. This has been a Classic NE Ohio course since 2000, and a classic Steady Ed design (often can’t go direct route, have to maneuver a “gate” first), scenic, with lovely elevation changes. And wind.
Physically check in between 8am and 9:30am at the picnic pavilion near holes 14 and 15. We have room for a few walk ups, and we’ll do what we can to not turn anyone away. We will attempt to set up a wind block, but keep it mostly open. One way sign-in: enter pavilion, hand sanitizer and masks are available first thing for those who forgot theirs, check in and possibly pay, get in ace fund (what we collect at event, $2 each, plus $120 carrying forward for the series), and exit. Board will be final by 945, tee off at 10. Official scores kept on UDisc, but paper ones will be available just-in-case!
Second round will begin 45-60 minutes after last card returns. Amateur payouts will be on site by Carmen Ricco and the Shoot the Breeze club. Pro payouts will be done via paypal or cash as necessary. Any group gatherings, either signing in, checking things during lunch, choosing your amateur payout: You should wear a mask to protect others, in case you have cooties and don’t know it. One on one, we all make choices. But in a group, you should really wear a mask (plus they are warm on cold days!). If we start that second round before 2pm, should be out by 5pm if you want to drive home in daylight or play some more!
OB rules: on or over any paved roads, on or over curb to parking areas, inside fenced-in ponds (do not retrieve disc during round please!). There are 4 holes with 2 baskets each (3, 5, 13, 17): We will play to the long basket the first round, short baskets the second round (unless we need to add those “ghost holes” to accommodate more players). No 2 meter rule for this event.
