Good Morning Disc Golfers!
I hope everyone is getting excited as the clock ticks-down towards the 6th annual Four Fathers Open!
I am including the content from the player's email here as we have a few regulars who's email servers filter out group emails.
Schedule
The full schedule is available in your Player's Guide and on DGS. Please note that check-in will begin at 8:00 am with our player's meeting going live at approximately 9:00 am. Please budget the award ceremony into your schedule as well at the end of the day; it's just plain good sportsmanship to lend your attention to your fellow competitors to acknowledge their achievements. On top of that, as always, we also have a cold beer for each competitor who wishes to partake, courtesy of our event sponsor Four Fathers Brewing and our tournament team.
Player's Meeting & Awards
Our morning player's meeting will take place at 9:00am at the Picnic Shelter at "Hole 19". Drinks and snacks will be set up at our traditional rest station tent between PB and hole 1. Please remember to bring a lunch and water bottle for the day!

Parking
Players will check-in at the picnic shelter ("Hole 19") in the morning as they arrive as noted in the accompanying photo below. Players will then be directed to final parking locations by event volunteers.
Volunteers
We LOVE volunteers. Due to the nature of the FFO, most players are only playing 1 of the 2 days this weekend. If you're willing, we would love your help on the course on your off-day. We can always use on-course officials, spotters, check-in support, OB lines-people and even just spectators. If you are willing to volunteer one of the days, please let me know by responding to this email. I will be reserving some early registration spots in 2027 for anyone who volunteers at least 1 full day at this year's FFO.
Withdrawals
If you are unable to attend and planning to withdraw, please do so ASAP as a courtesy to the players on our waitlist.
Waitlisters
There are currently a good chunk of this email's recipients still on the waitlist for the event. From experience, we typically see about a 10% turnover rate the week+ before an event. We're sharing the guide with you because you should certainly have an opportunity to prepare as well, in the event you're added. In the meantime, hold tight! If you don't happen to make it into the event, we will issue all waitlist refunds by the end of the weekend.
Ontario Tour & Provincial Qualifier
It’s included in the guide as well… but it’s so nice, we’ve got to say it twice. The FFO is the 10th Ontario Tour event of the 2026 calendar year! The top 3 finishers in every division will qualify for Provincials in Kemptville this September! The top 3 in each division will also earn their club a point in the Ontario Club Championship rankings.
Remember, you must join or renew your ODSA membership prior to the event to be eligible for your provincials pass, club points and all the promotional tour holes.
Player's Pack:
In an effort to stifle the trend of increasing C-tier registration fees, we've done our best to maintain an "accessible" price point with the FFO VI. That being said, we'd also managed to do a bit of fundraising to ensure that none of our amateur players go home empty handed. Each amateur player receives a disc from Thought Space Athletics, beer and plenty of snacks. There is also a licensed bar/restaurant on-site that you may visit during lunch and after the event.
That's it for now, enjoy your Friday everyone, we'll see you shortly!
