The Digital Player's Meeting Email went out last night; I'm posting the information shared here as well:
Good Evening Ontario (and BC) Disc Golfers!
With just over 32 hours until kick-off, I wanted to provide a nice, cohesive explanation of what to expect this Saturday at the Four Father's Open II.
Tee Times and Teeing Off
First off, we're running tee-times which were added to on the PDGA site on Monday:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/61207. Please be sure to check-back tomorrow one more time before you hit the hay and arrive at the course with plenty of leeway (30+ minutes) prior to your scheduled tee time. Players may check in 10 minutes prior to their tee time at the starter tent near hole 1 while the card before them tees off.
Layouts
Pro Divisions - Long/Long
MA1/FA1 - Short/Long
All Others - Short/Short
All divisions play hole 13 from the "Long" tee
Player's Packs & "Games"
Each amateur competitor participating in the FFOII will receive a player's pack that consists of a limited edition Thought Space Athletics Disc, a TSA mini and a can of Spike Hyzer Lager (Sorry Brock, Nikko, Sergio & Alejandro) to drink during lunch or after your second round. Thanks to our event hole sponsors, we'll also have plenty of snacks and drinks (+water) on-site all day, with the club house and restaurant also on-site for lunch and drinks. There will also be CTPs, Longest Putts and Longest Drives side games on the course:
Hole 1: Longest Drive (Pro Mixed | Amateur Men | Amateur Women)
Hole 1: Longest Putt
Hole 2: CTP
Hole 17: CTP
Hole 18: Longest Putt
Ontario Club Championship, Four Father's Elevated Ace Hole & Tournament Ace Pot
The Four Father's Open II kicks off the Ontario Club Championship tour for 2022! This means that all division winners (who are ODSA members; join here if you haven't yet: https://www.ontariodiscsports.ca/sign-up#join) will receive an "OCC" point for their home club when they win their division; ultimately contributing to the race to be crowned Ontario's OCC Champion club in each region. This also signals the return of the Four Father's Elevated Ace Run (Details attached)! Hole 16 will be decked-out again and primed for an ace. This year, any ODSA member who aces the hole will receive a Squatch™ Legend 2.0 bag ($500 value) on the spot courtesy of Four Father's Brewing Co. in addition to their tournament ace pot (if entered). We urge all players to film their card's drives on this hole with a cell phone as the entire card will also receive prizes if footage of the throw is captured. Even if it's not, we're still giving away prizes courtesy of our sponsors so long as you post your videos on the hole to your feed or story and tag @ontariodiscsports and @4fathersbrewing
detailed instructions are provided on hole 16's teebox
Lunch & Round 2
Each card should take approximately 3-3.5 hours to play their round (we guesstimate) and have approximately 50-80 minutes for lunch. The first card of the afternoon will tee off for their second round at 12:00pm, then subsequent cards will follow accordingly (second card at 12:10, 3rd card at 12:20 etc.) We will do our best to shuffle cards according to division standings and post afternoon tee times on the PDGA site; the MA2 division may present a "tighter" lunch squeeze as a result, so please prepare to have as little as 20-30 minutes for lunch if you're in this division. If this is an issue for ANYONE, we will be sure to accommodate our players on a case-by-case basis (tee times can be tough!). As mentioned previously, we'll have plenty of drinks and snacks on site, but if you're looking for something "heartier", the clubhouse restaurant will be serving food. They don't have fantastic vegetarian/vegan options, so if you're in that boat, I'd suggest meal prepping the evening before.
Awards & Prizes
As the last card of each division completes their round, we'll quickly take a moment to ensure all scores are submitted correctly, then award OCC tags, a small trophy to each division winner, all side-prizes and any divisional merch-outs with credit usable on-site only at the portable Ontario Disc Store pop-up we've brought with us. Payout tables will be posted prior to round 1 tee-off so both pros and amateurs know what to expect, based on their finishing position. We've placed an emphasis on ensuring each player goes home full & hydrated with a special edition disc in their players pack, new friends and a positive competitive experience.
Sponsors
I want to reach out and genuinely thank the 18 hole sponsors who stepped-up to contribute another $25 each (or $100 in Gripped & Ripped Disc Sport's case) to help our event bottom line and provide support for snacks, drinks and extra prizes for everyone. Please take a moment to genuinely scan the list and, should you require a service you see here one day, pay it forward by giving the folks who support what you love, your business:

Additionally, for the second year in a row, Four Father's Brewing Co. has supported Ontario Disc Golf through substantial financial contributions towards course projects, grass root events, competitive programming and our provincial championship at the end of the year. If you haven't yet, check out the 9-hole professionally designed executive disc golf course at their brewery in Hespeler Village in Cambridge, then pop over to their patio for some drinks and great food. This is my number one, defacto, go-to spot to introduce friends or family to the sport.
I also want to give Aaron Wilmot @ Thought Space Athletics kudos for continually giving me access to limited plastic and stamps (and a quick turnaround) for our tournaments north of the border. I think these molds, plastic and stamp are really going to butter your bread if you're already a TSA fan, and are a great opportunity to get into their molds if you aren't yet. Hint; there may be a few UV reactive discs available...
Out-of-Bounds Rules
Please see the attached sheet. The Newcastle Disc Golf team have done an absolutely incredible job putting this course together (if you know, you know) and marking OB for this event. If you see Kevin, Chris, Tanya, Catherine or any of their children, please give them a kind word; they've built every piece of the wonderland you're playing this weekend. There are easily thousands of hours invested in hand crafting each staircase, bridge, path and gnome home on the course.
Be kind to your cardmates, get plenty of sleep the night before, and look forward to the next shot, don't dwell on the last. We'll see everyone this Saturday, we're going to have a great time!
