Good Morning Competitors,
We hope everyone is excited about heading to Newcastle tomorrow to compete in the Four Fathers Open III! The course is prepped and ready to go thanks to the NDG crew, and we want to make sure you are too! We've made a few small additions to the course this year, adding a pair of new tournament holes to challenge our players while helping facilitate a slightly larger field size. We've included hole signs/diagrams in the attached digital player's guide.
OCC Tour & Provincial Qualifying
---------------------------------------------
We also wanted to remind folks that the Four Fathers Open III is the 7th stop on this year's Ontario Club Championship and Provincials Qualifying tour! Players must be ODSA current (join or renew here) prior to the start of their round tomorrow in order to be eligible to qualify for the 2023 Ontario Provincial Disc Golf Championship, win their home club an OCC point, , enter in the draw for birdieing "Ontario's Hardest Hole" or receive a Prodigy Apex XL bag for acing the Elevated Ace hole on hole 10.
Not sure if you're current? You can check on the ODSA site, using the member directory tool.
How does Provincial qualifying work?
----------------------------------------------------
A player must win their division in an OCC tour event to punch their ticket to the 2023 OPDGC. In the event a first place finisher has already qualified, or is not an ODSA member, the qualifier spot will pass down as far as 2nd place (but no further) including ties!
Is lunch provided?
---------------------------
No, please BYOL or come prepared to purchase it at the clubhouse tomorrow (burgers, wraps, etc.). A word of warning: there will be 86 players finishing their rounds at approximately the same time as you, with potentially the same idea. Pack a lunch if you're not willing to wait or take a risk.
Are there washrooms on site?
-----------------------------------------
There are full washrooms available at the main clubhouse and a smaller single washroom after hole 8 and hole 12.
Will there be snacks and water available?
---------------------------------------------------------
We will have snacks and water, thanks in part to our earlybird sponsors. Please bring a refillable water bottle as we will have 5 gallons jugs with pumps.
Last, but not least, check your starting hole to see who you'll be playing with tomorrow morning for round 1. Starting holes are available on the PDGA event page.
Any questions? No sweat, please don't hesitate to reach out by replying to this email.
Sleep tight, we'll see you tomorrow!
