Our inaugural club championship was held this past Saturday October 24, 2020. It was a chilly morning that turned into a beautiful fall day. There were 45 total competitors: 42 Men and 3 Women.

The weather conditions and the added pressure - made it very difficult to score at Shoaff. The cut line was at four (4) under par for the men and 22 folks were able to able to make the cut. All 3 women progressed to Tillman.

Brent Koontz had the hot round at Shoaff shooting a blazing 16-under par and found himself on the lead card with Hohlbein (-12), Lomow (-10), and Kremer (-10). Some technical difficulties made it a mystery about how the lead card was fairing against Tillman while Sprunger and Wilson were making moves from the chase card. Ultimately, Koontz came out of the woods with a solid 5-under par on a very difficult layout and showed us why he is the best player in the Fort.

1. Brent Koontz - (-21 ) $165
2. Brian Wilson - (-15) $115
3. Ben Lomow - (-13) $77
4. Caleb Sprunger - (-13) $77

Nikki Vaughan had herself a day! Shooting a total of 6-over on the day. Nancy and Courtney had a close battle for second place and Nancy was able to take it home.

Thank you for competing in the inaugural Fort Disc Golf Club Championship. We’re excited to start a tradition that honors competition, our club, our courses, and our players.


This electronic message will provide some information for Saturday’s festivities.


Schedule

· 8:00 AM - 8:40 AM: Player Check-In (Shoaff)

If you have not paid into the ace fund and 50/50, you can do so at check-in. However, please bring exact change / cash. We will not have the card reader available tomorrow AM.

· 8:50 AM: Brief Player’s Meeting (Shoaff)

· 9:15 AM: Round 1 (Shoaff)

· 1.5 Hour Lunch Break

· 1:15 PM: Round 2 Player’s Meeting (Tillman) TIME IS APPROXIMATE

o A brief player’s meeting will occur prior to Round 2

o We will use the parking lot by Holes 10, 13, 15 as tournament central for Round 2.

· 1:30 PM: Round 2 Tee Off TIME IS APPROXIMATE

· Awards immediately following the conclusion of Round 2. Cash payouts.



General Info

· The layout for Tillman is attached.

· The OB sheet for Shoaff and Tillman is attached. See Hole 6 at Shoaff.

· We will utilize uDisc and paper scorecards for the tournament. Paper scorecards will be provided to each group each round. It will be the responsibility of one person in the group to keep the uDisc copy and one person to keep the paper copy. Make sure they match before finalizing your score. Instructions are attached.

· The men’s division has 44 players. Therefore, the cut line will be the top 22 scores (including ties).

· All 3 women will advance to Tillman.

· FDGC Bag Tags will be in play. Please bring your tag and turn it in at registration.

· Tags will be used to determine order for Round 2.

· Projected cash payouts are attached. Top 40%

· Ace Pool is currently at $165. If no ace is hit, we will randomly generate two names using a random number generator.

· Men’s 50/50 is currently at $80 - Hole 9 Shoaff.

· Women’s 50/50 is currently at $10 - Hole 12 Shoaff

· Hole 4 Ace Bounty is in place and is at $70.



Masks are required at check-in and any instance where 6-feet of social distance cannot be maintained. COVID is on the rise in Indiana and in Allen County. Be respectful of others.
