If the director does not designate the area as out of bounds, then it is not out of bounds, even if it is "normally" or even "always" out of bounds in unsanctioned play. That goes for not only island OB like 18 but any OB, even water.

I did not see the hole so I have no idea whether or not the area was properly designated as out of bounds by the TD as required by rule 806. I am simply stating the rule. Hope everyone had an awesome time.
