Hey Disc Golfers,
I have spent the past few hours refining the brackets and schedule to better accommodate players. Many of your tee times have changed so please double check your tee time to be sure that you know when to be at the course.
Remember, I ask that you are available at the putting green or on the patio for at least 20 minutes prior to your tee time. This will allow for some flexibility in the day. If groups are ready to tee early then we can progress the day early. We can not be late! This thing we have going on is so freaking cool and I have really enjoyed organizing the logistics for you! I need us all to do our parts to help the day progress as scheduled. Please tell you buddies to check their emails and double check the brackets.

I’ve heard from some players that they have not read the player email that went out on Monday. PLEASE make it a priority to do so!! This week and tournament day will be busy and I will not be available 24/7 to answer your questions. Everything is included in the player email that you all have received. If you can not find the email, check your spam folder and confirm the email address that you registered with.

The Tour Finale is just 11 days away and we couldn't be more excited to close out the season. As I make your brackets, I am realizing that I jumped the gun when proclaiming that the tour finale could be done in a single day. There is simply too much disc golf and not enough daylight to get all of our rounds in for the larger brackets. This applies to MA1-MA2-MA3-MA4. MPO-MP40-FPO-MA40 will all be finished in a single day. 

What this means is that the top competitors will need to return to the course for a 2nd day of competition to complete the bracket. 

I have tried everything short of shortening matches to 6 holes each and the math just doesn't work. By my calculations the final 8 competitors in each of the above listed divisions will have rounds to play by the time the sun sets. 

I am currently working on the brackets and scheduling the day. I am open to any suggestions that you may offer and wanted to keep you informed of my mistake. If you are not able to play 2 days and advance to the final day you are still awarded the payout for advancing in the bracket. Payout amounts will be published with the brackets and will be well worth playing for even if you are unable to see it through.

Please share your thoughts on the scheduling dilemma and prepare to play both Saturday and Sunday (22nd-23rd) if you advance deep into the MA1, MA2, MA3, or MA4 divisions.

Finale Announcements

Course Layouts - Dojo Country Club

The Tour Finale will be played on a custom course layout at the Dojo Country Club in Van Buren. The old golf course outside of our clubhouse hosts a course that is redesigned each month. The next layout will be built specifically for the Flexing Down 49 Tour Finale and will feature 2 9-hole loops each with long and short tees. This layout will be officially playable on Friday, 11/7. We will have mini tournaments at the course each of the next 2 Sunday's at 2pm. Plan to get your practice in sometime over the next 2 weeks!

Each division will have a single course layout that they will play for all rounds of their bracket. The 4 9-hole loops will be named as follows: East Blue, East Red, West Blue, and West Red. East will be the longer and more challenging 9 with par 4's and 5's. West will be mainly par 3's with scorable distances for all skill levels.


Bracket Release

TI have previously mentioned that I wanted to have the brackets published by this past Friday. This is not the case. We have a handful of players who have not yet registered and I would like to spend a bit more time making them with accurate tee times and layout assignments for each matchup. I may end up creating custom brackets like I did 2 years ago which takes a lot of time. I expect to have them published this weekend so everyone knows what to expect come tournament day. If you know someone who has qualified but has not registered or communicated with me, consider reaching out to them and reminding them to do so.


Single Day of Competition for All

We have previously encouraged that you prepare for 2 days of competition if needed. I am confident that all matchups will be completed on Saturday the 22nd for all divisions. Thank you all for being prepared for a 2 day event though I am glad to see us wrap up the season with a single day BANG!

If you have already registered, I need you to UPDATE YOUR REGISTRATION to include your shirt size please.

All players who play in 10 or more tour stops will earn a dri fit tee shirt and anyone who plays in 14 or more will earn a dri fit hooded shirt. The sizes for these items are pretty true. The long sleeve hoodies are very long in the torso. If you do not include a shirt size with your registration then I can't guarantee that you will get the right size... I apologize for not having the selection available with registration until now.

If you are qualified and not planning to play in the Finale it is really helpful if you can let us know as early as possible. If you are playing then please sign up ASAP. Thank you.
