Greetings,
Welcome to the 2025 Fall Sling hosted by the Greenhorn Disc Golf Club. We are excited to have you all here for this fall event. The weather is expected to be awesome. It will be brisk in the morning as the event gets going but it is supposed to be around 60 by the afternoon. There are a few things I would like to go over as the event gets under way.
Directions:
If you are not familiar with the area the course is located at Greenhorn park in Yreka Ca on Greenhorn Rd. If coming from the south take exit 773, turn left off the freeway then a right at the stop light. Greenhorn Rd will be on your left about ¾ of a mile or so. Turn left at Tractor Supply. As you go up the road you will see the lake on the left followed by the entrance to the park. If coming from the North take exit 773 then a right off the freeway then follow the previous directions. We can park anywhere in the upper parking lot. Also there is a dirt lot on the south side we can park in.
Tournament Central will be in the Kiosk on the South side of the parking lot west of the bathrooms. It's the log building next to the trail going across the bridge. We will meet there check in, hand out player packs and have the players meeting. The schedule of events timeline is changing a bit from the description in Disc Golf Scene.
Player check in and player pack pick up 8am please be prompt.
Players Meeting 8:20am
Tee Off 8:45am
Lunch after round 1's final card gets turned in. We will take 1 hr. (Lunch will be provided free of charge. Lunch will be a hotdog ,chili, chips and water.)
Round 2 will start around 1pm subject to change depending on timing of Round 1 and lunch
Awards at 5pm on the lawn.
Rules:
I have just a few things here. We will be forgoing the 2 meter rule for this tournament. Again no 2 meter rule. The only OB on the course is hole 14, there is a triple Mando. If missed, you take your stroke and play from the drop zone located under the Mando. Keep in mind this is a public park and the public use the trails often throughout the day. There are a couple holes where we need to be mindful of hikers and such. Hole 5, 6 ,7 and 9 run along a trail or cross one, 10 crosses a trail, 17 and 18 play along a trail, although rarely used. With the foliage on the trees this can make it hard to see people so do your best. We will have videographer on site making a highlight reel. Keeping in mind this is in a park so if you bring it in bring it out. There will be trash cans on the course please use them. We good bit of players so please keep the pace of play up.
Rounds:
Round one will be played in our "A" layout and round 2 will be in our "B" layout. Cards will be arranged by division as much as possible.
With the weather expected to be in the low 60’s and sunny. Water will be available throughout the course should forget or run out. There are bathrooms in the park but not out on the course. It is likely that you could see some wildlife so be prepared we are in a wooded area. The gate to the park will be open by 7:30am if you would like to get some practice in. We will also be raffling off extra discs and Greenhorn Disc Golf shirts and swag during the awards. Tickets will be $1 each. 6 for $5 or 25 for $20.
Also new this tournament we will be having an Ace race from the bridge to the practice baskets. The pot starts at $100. It's 1 dollar a throw, first one to ace wins the pot. Also there will be CTP prizes each round.
AM4LIFEDISCS will be onsite for all your discs needs as well as the script payout for the amateur division.
Again I would like to thank each and everyone of you for joining us. See you on the course!
Thanks
