At the player's meeting, I will give more specifics about the four types of throws for all inexperienced players, but here is a brief summary:
Forehand - also known as "sidearm". Disc must be released beside the body, somewhat similar to a sidearm baseball throw or a forehand tennis stroke. Disc must be released lower than top of your head.
Overhand - grip of the disc doesn't really matter, but disc must be released above the top of your head.
Roller - Disc can be thrown with any release (forehand, overhand, backhand), but it must land on the ground (and hopefully roll) no more than halfway from the tee to the basket.
Backhand - the most common disc golf throw, as you would throw any normal frisbee pulling across your chest.
