We are happy to announce that on Monday, November 9th, registration will be open for FDR December Doubles!
While we'll be keeping the traditional format of play for this event this year, we are going to experiment with the format of the payout structure this year. Please take note of the following changes...
1. All divisions will be playing for cash payouts - there will be no player packs. Registration is $40 per player ($80 team) - $10 of each players registration fee will allocated to the club for fundraising, and the rest all goes to the payout. We'll be paying 40% of each division, so there is a chance to take home some cash for players of ALL skill levels.
2. Divisions will be strictly enforced - don't be a bagger. If you are unsure of what division to play in please reach out to me, and I'll be happy to help you evaluate the appropriate place to be.
- Please note a few guidelines:
- Play where you would normally play in a PDGA sanctioned tournament.
If your team is uneven in skill level, we ask that you play in the division of the highest player on your team.
- While we don't expect this to be a major issue, if tournament staff consider a team to be sandbagging, we will either move the team up to their appropriate division, or offer the team a refund.
3. We are holding 10 spots for Female teams for one week after registration opens. After one week we will move through anyone on the waitlist.
4. You must be a 2021 Tag Holder to enter this event. This means you either got a tag with your One Town Turkey Trot registration, or you bought one directly from a board member. 2021 tags and upgraded memberships will be available during registration.
Lastly, we just want to thank all of you in advance for helping us experiment with new formats. This decision came as a result of a number of player-pack doubles events happening around similar times of this event, as well as feedback in our annual club survey requesting more opportunities to play cash events. While we realize this event may not be for everybody, we pride ourselves on offering as many different styles of events as we can throughout the year to accommodate YOU the members of WeDGE, with fun and competitive disc golf!
