Volunteering:
Set Up: 7am is best, 8am works, too.
Breakdown: 3:15 PM
Ice Bowls are all about the community coming together to pioneer the game and benefit the greater community. Working together to build this together reflects that mission!
Course Conditions: The course is VERY slippery right now. Some holes have been changed to reflect these dangers but, overall, there isn't much we can do. Pads are clear but fairways are VERY slippery. Tread carefully. Avoid asphalt/hills. I recommend stomping hard and using your heels to establish footing.
Due to conditions, we are allowing 5 meters of casual relief from any lie that you deem unsafe footing. If you choose to take advantage of this, your partner does not have to.
Pro Tip: your disc will mega skip. Use that to your advantage!
Covid Info
We ask, very seriously, for all players to wear a mask during the event . This is an opportunity to show the county, Lake Fairfax and the greater community the value that disc golfers have for parks and for charity, among so many other things. We want to take all the necessary precautions to prevent what is an otherwise inspiring event to one that could lead to problems. As respectfully as possible I ask you to adhere to this request.
Address: 1400 Lake Fairfax Dr, Reston, VA 20190
Directions/Parking: Upon entering the park, take a left at the first stop sign, right at the second. Climb the hill (be careful and drive slow there is a pedestrian crossing that might surprise you). You will see soccer fields on the left, park in those spots. Tournament central will be to the right.
Sign In: Check in at Tournament Central 10 minutes before your tee time. Do not linger in groups. Player's packs will be handed out AFTER your round when you submit your scores to prevent you from having to go back to your car after your initial check-in.
Warm-Up: There is PLENTY of room to practice throwing in the soccer fields where you parked. There may be a practice basket set up, TBD.
Scoring: If you do not have Udisc, please download Udisc to your smartphone and make an account. We will be using Udisc as scorecards. Only one person per card needs to take scores.

Course name is: Camp Wannachuck (seriously, that's the name of the campground).
Course Info:
OB is lake only; all streams are casual relief, which means:
"To obtain relief from a casual area, the player's lie may be relocated to the nearest lie which is farther from the target and is on the line of play, at the nearest point that provides relief (unless greater casual relief is announced by the Director)"
Use the included maps for directions. There are three long walks; from holes 4-5, 8-9 and 16-17. There will be directional signs. As well, reach out to me for any questions/help. We will not have maps printed out, refer to this email during the round for directions.
There will be pedestrians in the park while we play. Take care to notice and yield to them. We do not own the park!
Mulligans: Your team can purchase up to 4 Mulligans. $5 each; if you're one of these people who are too cool for mulligans but regret subscribing to that identity mid round have no fear, they are still available at $10 (Still 4 total). All proceeds go to the CAFB.
PayPal
[email redacted]

If this is your first ever 'official' tournament, you receive one free mulligan.

Pricing:
$2 - 1 Ticket
$8 - 5 Tickets

Tournament Rules: We have a lot of new players and that is awesome! For those that need a refresher or some quick help, I have attached a 'Must Know' rule sheet. Please read!
No Shows: If your partner fails to come through (curse them!) you can still play but, you are relegated to having only one extra throw per hole.
If we have a card where a team doesn't show, you will be moved to the next available tee time as a Six Person (Three Team) group. Let's avoid this and show up!
If you have any questions, please reach out.
