The true object of all human life is play. Earth is a task garden; heaven is a playground. Gilbert K. Chesterton.

Thanks to Tim Thompson for bring DG to Edinboro, thanks to Dave Goodwill being hardest worker and leader of all of our wonderful Edinboro student and local volunteers making the course possible.

To J Gary and Pat for designing our corse, and running our first PDGA tournament with our new course, deep thanks!

Edinboro DG a true glimps of heaven!

Thanks,
Dan

Ron McCollum your are NOT in the Edinboro tournament. If you are at at Tournament HQ at 7am Saturday you will be first in line if a second spot opens.

J. Gary Dropcho   September 15, 2018 at 4:20am

Michael Williams got the first open spot based the time of his DGS inquiry.

May I get in, please? 75210, MA50

Michael Williams   September 14, 2018 at 10:45pm

Just looked at the registered players list. Guess I'm too young to play with the 55+ guys. Put me in Intermediate, if no MA50

J. Gary Dropcho    September 13, 2018 at 11:34pm

I forgot to highlight the 4 pm DG Skills clinic on Friday in the email I sent out this morning! Doh!
The clinic will be held at the Pogue Center Patio, near #1 tees and #9 basket. Hope to see many of you then.
If people are interested, a Best Shot Dubs could break out afterwards!

For the speed of play, for the appropriate assignment of tees to skill levels, and to insure we will have enough propagators to generate player ratings for many of the new PDGA members in the tournament, here are the tee assignments (revised) for the tournament:
MPO, MA1 -- Blue tees both rounds
MA2 -- White tees both rounds
MA3, MA4, FA2/3/4, MA55, FJ1 -- Red tees both rounds

I noticed on the photos that there are multiple basket placements for the holes. Is there a certain letter we are playing to or will it all be different ? Thanks!

DISCGOLFDAN ONEPUTT   September 14, 2018 at 2:03am

J Gary, I believe Danielle and I will be the slowest, please consider putting us on 10 because hole 9 will have biggest time gap to get to next hole. Thank you, Dan

Pat Govang    September 11, 2018 at 3:54pm

Hi All, J. Gary and I are looking forward to a great weekend! We designed the course to be fun for all, however, the back 9 is intentionally designed for advanced skills when compared to the front 9. We want everyone to have an enjoyable time (and we want to finish before dark :). With the course being new, we have estimates of how much time it should take for all the skill levels competing - but they may be wildly wrong. If so and the first round takes longer than we expect - we may adjust ... more

Thanks for the heads-up. Is the course playable this week?

J. Gary Dropcho   September 11, 2018 at 5:12pm

Yes. Baskets should be in their tournament positions. Tee lines and OB should get painted by Thursday, weather permitting.

Dane OBrien   September 12, 2018 at 4:20pm

Fantastic! Thanks for all you do, J.Gary! I'm looking to head up for an afternoon round tomorrow since I can't get there on Friday.

DISCGOLFDAN ONEPUTT    September 11, 2018 at 12:33am

J Gary,

Now that we are filled and my daughter Danielle is the only Junior could she play on my card?

Thank you,
Dan

Hi Dan, that's the plan. Pat

Bob Buckley    September 10, 2018 at 7:49pm

Hey JGD, currently there are tents set up on either side of the White/Blue tee on hole 9. Are you going to have us play from reds? Move the tee? Or throw the blue tee anyway?

The tents are from the Highland games festival at the university last weekend. They will probably be gone soon. The bridge is out long term (which sucks)

Bob Buckley   September 10, 2018 at 9:27pm

Dang. They should probably make some sort of makeshift bridge across the creek lol

J. Gary Dropcho   September 11, 2018 at 3:33am

MPO and MA1 will be playing from a tournament tee on top of the amphitheater mound. These same divisions will also have a Tournament Blue tee on Hole 1, farther back and to slightly left of White tee.

The registration page gives me an error because I didn't make a t-shirt size selection, but all sizes say 0 available and aren't selectable: https://imgur.com/50n90u6

I made a correction on the registration setting; unfortunately all of the shirts are gone, but you should be able to opt out by selecting "No Thanks" and complete your registration.

What will you do when you turn in your scorecard at the end of Round 2? Go eat some wings at the Boro Wing Cook Off happening right next to the Pogue Center Patio where the awards will take place. Make a donation to the Make A Wish foundation and vote for which Edinboro eatery has the best wings!

J Gary,

If MA55, MA60, and MA65 all don't get the required 4 players do we get compress into one group?

Thank you,
Dan

J. Gary Dropcho   September 8, 2018 at 5:34pm

Yes, and that would likely be the MA55 division that all would be eligible for.

Kyle Crawford    September 8, 2018 at 1:19pm

Can someone drop the lat/long to where the parking/registration for the event is going to be? I know it can be hectic around a campus and I'm driving an hour and a half up in the morning, be easier if I knew exactly where to go.

Thanks,
Kyle
