COVID-19 Reminder:
If you have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, monitor yourself for symptoms for 14 days after the last day you were exposed to protect your health and those around you. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Other symptoms may include muscle aches, fatigue, sore throat, chills, headache, runny nose, abdominal pain/discomfort, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. If you are 65 or older or have a medical condition (such as heart, lung, or liver disease, diabetes or cancer), or are on kidney dialysis, and you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19—call your doctor.
We are asking anyone who shows any symptoms associated with COVID-19 or other sickness should not play the Winter Warm-Up tournament. This is for your own safety, volunteers, all competitors, and the Dynamic Discs staff.

Tournament Players
As tournament/competitive/recreational players it is our responsibility to adhere to park rules, COVID-19 standards and precautions, and to the welfare of others. Please keep sidewalks and paths clear of bags/carts. Try not to loiter on sidewalks. Pedestrians always have the right-of-way. Even though this event is official, and we have exclusive use of the courses, these are public parks. We DO NOT kick people out or tell them they cannot play the course. We DO tell them what is going on and give them all of the information needed to make sure there is little or no issue. In all cases these situations tend to work themselves out. As tournament players I feel it is our duty to be positive and informative towards others regardless of being a part of a paid tournament. All in all, we should be respectful and kind to everyone we come in contact with. Thank you all for your consideration.
Weather:
What is the weather like this weekend? It looks like a mild and partly cloudy weekend! There shouldn't be any rain this weekend but the course will probably have some muddy spots from all of the rain earlier this week, so make sure you are prepared for that as well. You can monitor the weather at the link below:

Please stay hydrated and do not take a risk of playing if you do not feel 100% healthy. If you find that a competitor/bystander is in an emergency situation, please call 911 first. Once the paramedics have been notified, please notify any staff so we can assist where/when we can. PDGA DIGITAL SCORECARD FOR 2023 BlackBerry Pines Open
We will be using digital scorecards for this event. if you would like to review and research this method, please follow this link: https://www.pdga.com/help/tournament-management/official-hole-scoring
The ACCESS CODES for event scoring is BERRY.
It is not case sensitive. To start your round with digital scoring you will need to go to the following link: www.pdga.com/score.
1. You will be prompted to enter the Access Code and press the Submit button.
2. Search for your name. You can search by typing in part of your name or PDGA Number. Once your name appears, you select it and confirm. This person is now a “scorekeeper”. In compliance with PDGA rules, multiple people in the same group may keep score on the digital scorecard as a safety net/back-up.
3. You will be prompted to select the round for which you are currently playing.
4. The scoring screen will load with your name. The default starting hole is hole 1, so be sure to choose the correct starting hole if for some reason hole 1 is not where the group is starting (e.g. shotgun start).
5. Scores for each player will be automatically defaulted to whatever the par is for the hole that is being scored. The player can use the plus or minus buttons to add or remove strokes. When all players have the correct scores, clicking Save & Continue will upload the scores and the page will automatically reload on the hole that follows.
6. The teeing order is indicated by a number presented to the left of each player's name.
WE WILL NOT USE PHYSICAL SCORECARDS AS PRIMARY SCORING, BUT THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE AS A BACK-UP FOR EVERY CARD. EVERY GROUP MUST KEEP SCORE ON THE PDGA DIGITAL SCORECARD, AS THIS IS YOUR OFFICIAL FORM OF SCORING FOR THE WEEKEND. IT IS STATED IN THE PDGA COMPETITION MANUAL, THAT GROUPS SHALL HAVE A BACK-UP SCORECARD FOR EACH GROUP. THE BACK-UP SCORING METHOD CAN BE THE PDGA DIGITAL SCORECARD, UDISC, OR A PHYSICAL SCORECARD. THIS MEANS AT LEAST 2 PEOPLE, IN EACH GROUP, MUST KEEP SCORE, IN ORDER TO MEET BACK-UP REQUIREMENTS. ALL SCORES NEED TO BE VERIFIED AND DOUBLE-CHECKED BY EACH COMPETITOR AT THE END OF EACH ROUND BEFORE SUBMITTING FINALS SCORES. IF A VERIFIED SCORE IS INCORRECT, THE PERSON WHOSE SCORE IT REFLECTS WILL RECEIVE A 2 STROKE PENALTY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAVING TWO BACK-UP SCORE CARDS AND MAKE SURE YOUR SCORE IS CORRECT BEFORE IT IS SUBMITTED. ANY ISSUES, PLEASE SPEAK TO THE TD.
Please make sure you review the link provided to familiarize yourself with the PDGA digital scorecard. As a competitor you are responsible for knowing the competition rules of disc golf for a better player experience. Players are encouraged to ask any and all questions before the player meeting to better prepare. We know there will always be questions. I promise to answer those questions as quickly and efficiently as possible. Feel free to reach out to me with any concerns or issues you may have. I look forward to seeing you all this weekend!
Last, but certainly not least, I would like to take the opportunity to share some educational links that may help answer some preliminary questions competitors may have. Please see below.
