Since there will usually only be room for 36 teams at any given event, I didn’t want to have too many divisions and muddy the field. I also didn’t want to get too heavy-handed administratively and structure it in a way that would require me to implement something like a ratings cap. I also thought hard about a pro mixed division, but it was important to me to have at least one division for the age-protected pros. Since this is the first year of this series, I will definitely be paying attention to all feedback, and adjustments will undoubtedly be made for the future. If this turns out to be really popular, I’m already entertaining the idea of offering more divisions and moving to a format where pros play in the morning, and Ams play in the afternoon. I did make sure that MA50 and MP50 will be available in the Oggwood series, and I plan to keep investing in more action for you guys.

To put it another way, I labeled the division “Open Masters” because I at least wanted a separate division for all the pros over 40. If there’s a clear need to break it down further, I’m into it.
