The Clinic is this Sunday at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan, following the Sunday Disc Golf League (League starts at 10:30am, so clinic should begin about 1pm or so).
All players are invited to play league ($5.00 buy in, $2.00 optional ace pool, random draw doubles) and/or attend the Discraft Long Distance Driving Clinic, sponsored by Play It Again Sports.
DIRECTIONS to Kensington Metropark: For GPS users the park office address is 2240 W. Buno Rd., Milford MI 48380
The park is directly off I-96 expressway (about 5 miles east of I-23 or about 15 miles west of I-275). Exit at KENT LAKE Road (do not take the Kensington Road exit), head North into the park. From the park entrance booth the Disc Golf Course is one half mile away, first parking lot on the right.
The Clinic IS NOT at the disc golf course, it is at the Toboggan Run (yes, site of the famed Toboggan Course but the course is not yet installed). We will be throwing straight UP the Toboggan Run. Excepting crazy shanks it should be easy to find your discs and follow their full flights. We have numerous big arm instructors who will perform a Long Distance Driving Contest so you can watch them perform under pressure and break down their throws, whether good or bad. Then there will be personalized instruction as you throw drives.
DIRECTIONS to the bottom of the Toboggan Run from the disc golf course: Continue into the park (away from the Kent Lake Road entrance, or a right turn out of the disc golf parking lot) and follow the park road around the lake (bearing left) for 3 miles to the Spring Hill Picnic Area parking lot ( which is right across the street from the base of the Toboggan Run). There is one tricky part to getting Spring Hill parking lot. After passing the Farm Center and the Park Office, pass the Buno Rd turnoff and you will come to a fork in the road at a stop sign. Take the right fork. There is a small sign for Spring Hill. 7/10 of a mile later you will see the Toboggan run on your left and Spring Hill on your right.
The Clinic is free with prizes supplied by Discraft and Play It Again Sports. The daily park entrance fee is $5.00 per car. If you want to play the Disc Golf Course there is a $2.00 daily fee.
