Once again, Metropolis DGC presents a golden opportunity to experience Fountain Hills under true tournament conditions — featuring The Memorial layout!

The Memorial is set for the first weekend in February, so this event offers a perfect warm-up while the layout is still fresh in your mind. With Vista Del Camino currently under renovation, that course will be off the schedule — which may mean the Memorial TDs lean more heavily on Fountain this year. Even more reason to get your reps in and sign up early!

This year we’re expanding the field to include Pro divisions. To accommodate the expected demand, we’ll be using tee times — with amateurs teeing off in the morning and pros following in the afternoon.

With great weather, a beautiful grass course, a challenging layout, an awesome AM player pack, and $750 added to the Pro purse, what’s not to love?

PLAYER CHECK-IN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: All players must check in with the starter no less than 5 minutes prior to their tee time each day and be present at the starting hole for the 5 minutes preceding their tee time each day. Players who do not check in with the starter by this time or who are not present at the starting hole for the 5 minutes preceding their tee time receive two penalty throws added to their starting hole.

Early AM Player Packet Pick-up: We will be out at the course on Friday, December 27th from 10 am until around 4pm. If you can, stop by and pick up your AM Players Pack. If that does not work, you can pick your packet up prior or after your round on Saturday.

Raffle: We are planning a raffle for discs and shirts. Raffle ticket sales will be at the course Saturday and possibly Friday at Early AM Check-in. Tickets are $5 each or 6 for $20. Winners will be drawn Saturday night and prizes will be available for pick up Sunday. Cash or most electronic payments accepted, no credit cards please.

PARKING AND WARM-UP: Parking is widely available. There are a couple of lots open on the north side of El Lago Blvd, just east of Saguaro Blvd. It is a busy time of the year for the park so if you have later tee times, those lots may be full. You can park on the north side El Lago Blvd all the way down to Panorama Dr. There is also the lot on Panorama Drive, just north of El Lago Blvd. To warm up, we will have a net and there are two practice baskets by tee 1. There is very limited area along El Lago to throw. If you want some full length shots, check out Desert Vista Park off of Desert Vista and Saguaro Blvd.

PACE OF PLAY: Pace of play will be VERY IMPORTANT. It is imperative that each group watches each others throws on the holes with mandos and water to be able to determine where a shot went OB or if it missed the mando. We will have some spotters but don't have enough to cover the entire course. IF YOU THROW A DISC IN THE WATER, you must leave it and try to retrieve it after the rounds are over. The ONLY EXCEPTION is if you have a floater and can readily get it, you may do so. The moral of the story here is to bring extra discs!!

Pass through fees include the following
$4 PDGA B-tier per player fee
$14 per player Course rental fee
$2 per player TD fee

Players who officially request to withdraw from this event within 14 days of the start of the event and prior to the event’s published closure of registration (December 24th 12a.m.) and waitlist replacements will receive a 100% monetary refund minus a $10 handling fee only if their spot in the tournament is filled by a player who is on the waitlist at the time of the withdrawal request. If the player’s spot is not filled, the TD has the choice to provide either a 25% monetary refund or just the player’s pack they would have received if they had attended (minus the cost of shipping). In the case of a player in a Pro division for an event without a Pro player pack worth at least 25% of the Entry Fee, the TD will provide the 25% monetary refund.
Players who request withdrawal within 48 hours of the start of play, or who request withdrawal after the published close of registration and the published end of waitlist replacements, are not entitled to a refund. If a TD fills a player’s spot with a player on the waitlist at the time of withdrawal after the published close of registration and the published end of waitlist replacements, but more than 48 hours prior to the start of play, that player must receive a 100% monetary refund of their entry fee.

Metropolis Disc Golf Club is responsible for all refunds and cancellations.
