Good Evening Everyone!
First I would like to say thank you for registering for the 2021 Delaware Amateur Championship. This is the second time I have hosted this event.
We have been working hard at Iron Hill to provide some new tee pads and this year our amateur divisions will be able to play the FPO layout for the 2021 Delaware Disc Golf Challenge National Tour Event. You will be the first to receive a rating on this layout before everyone else.
Tomorrow morning I will be sending out an email to all competitors regarding the tournament. That email will service as your players meeting for day 1 of the event.
What you need to know right now:
DAY 1:
Course assignments are listed on the discgolfscene event page but you may also check out your starting course, hole and group assignments for day one at
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/51555
The columns will have the course and hole number.
Your round 2 assignments will also be listed at the same place once all groups have finished their first round.
Check-in for the event at your assigned starting courses will begin at 8:30am. You MUST CHECK-IN with the tournament director for each course when arriving for rounds 1 and round 2. This way we know you are there.
WATER!!! Yes it will be a hot one and I will have cold bottled water at hole one for each course. You should still be prepared and bring your own water as well.
Travel time between course is roughly 15-20 minutes if doing the speed limit. There are a few places to stop along the way during break but please remember that you will have an hour between rounds. Bringing a lunch may be a good idea to ensure you get to your destination on time.
Lums Pond - there is a fee if you do not have a park pass, use the kiosk at the entrance of the park (just after the booth) to obtain a receipt for your dash. Please also drive slowly in the park. They do have speed traps set up occasionally.
Scoring will be done via the PDGA live scoring app. Go to
www.PDGA.com/score. If you are on the top of the card please log in using the code provided in the email coming and it will also be on the back of the score card provided during check-in.
DAY 2:
After all day one rounds are complete I will be posting tee times at the same PDGA page where you obtained your hole assignments for day one.
Tee times begin at 8:15am.
When arriving to the course you MUST CHECK-IN at the pavilion. PIck up your players pack at that time and then report to hole 1 for your tee time. It is good etiquette to be on time for your tee time at least 5 minutes before the two-minute warning.
Once each division has completed their rounds please report back to the pavilion and we will begin payouts immediately. Afterwards feel free to go watch some golf, relax or roll out.
I hope everyone has a good time and good luck this weekend!
