For those attending the Parkland event on January 30th, just a quick note.
Alright, everyone. So far, this has been a word of mouth thing, but today, it hits Facebook!
The 2021 Ice Bowl is happening! So far, we have 21 people signed up to play at Katepwa on January 30th! This will be the third Ice Bowl that Parkland has put on, and this year, it's a bit different. We still have tags for the winners (women's, men's intermediate/beginner, and open), and we still have mulligans to sell to support the food bank in Melville, but this year, it's a flex start. What does that mean? It means that you will attend a virtual players' meeting on the 29th (Zoom invites sent by email), and then you can show up any time between 9 am and 6 pm on the 30th to play your round(s). The other change? This year, we will count only one round towards your event placing. However! You can play up to two rounds, depending on how ambitious you are (and how crappy the weather is), and submit both, with the better round being counted towards your placement. If there are ties at the top, we'll do a count back to determine the places. However, it's really everyone that wins at these events.
*Note - we are currently finalizing plans for this, pending insurance. If we are unable to stage the event at Katepwa PP, it will take place at Melville Regional Park in Melville, SK. If we have to push the tournament back, it will likely be pushed back two weeks to February 13th. If this occurs, I apologize in advance, and if necessary, refunds will be available through Disc Golf Scene. Please stay tuned for updates, whether for confirmation or for change of venue/date. Thanks!
