Good evening. I am super excited that you signed up to be part of our next "Night Flights" at the Idlewild on Thursday, 6/18. This will be a 1 round PDGA C-Tier. We will do a shotgun start at 6p sharp.
This will be a unique and hopefully fun and challenging layout. Per PDGA you must play a minimum of 13 holes to be PDGA sanctioned. We are going to add 2 in from the last time for a 15 hole layout.
Idlewild can be very confusing. Some people know holes based off of the MPO/FPO layout, or the Original 18, or the 24 Shorts layout. We will be basing this 15 hole layout off of the 24 short layout. Meaning we will use any short tee pad on the following holes:
1 - Regular tee pad to only basket
2 - Regular tee pad to short basket
3 - FPO/Short tee to only basket
4 - Regular tee pad to only basket
5 - Short tee (close to 4 basket by road) to only basket
6 - Regular tee (no mando) to only basket
7 - FPO/short tee to only basket
8 - FPO/short tee (no mando) to only basket
9 - Regular tee to only basket
10 - Regular tee to only basket
11 - FPO/short tee to only basket
12 - Regular tee to only basket
13 - Regular tee to only basket
14 - FPO/short tee to only basket
15 - FPO/short tee to only basket
All course particulars will be in PDGA live. Mainly OB will be surrounded by water in ponds and on/over roads. Creeks/standing water outside of ponds will be casual play.
Cheryl and I will be at tournament central, which will be next to hole 7's basket. This is the most central part to have tournament central. We will begin check in around 515p. We will have a shotgun start at 6p. I will post hole assignments by around 230p on event day, since registration will be open until 2p. They will be found at:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/105107
With doing a shotgun start, make sure you are at your hole by 558p when we will yell "two minutes". Please be aware that the course is not shut down for this event, so be mindful and considerate of casuals who may be on the course. It's important that we all play nice together.
Here is the schedule of events. The schedule will look like this:
515p-550p - Player Check In
6p - Shotgun Start
@830p- Awards/payouts
For those in the ACE fund, payouts will be done electronically this year. If an ACE isn't hit, it will be donated to the UC Discats.
We will be using PDGA Live for all scoring, and a reminder that everyone needs to keep score now (PDGA live or paper copy). The PDGA Live access code is: idlewild618
We are playing the regular 18 holes. This will be in PDGA live.
Cards will be made of of primarily 3-4 players. Depending on numbers, we may have to mix some divisions. We will do our best to make sure everyone is with at least 1 person from their division.
In order to win a division winners bag tag, there has to be at least 2 people in the division.
In the event there is a tie, we will not have a playoff due to lack of light after the round. All parties tied following the round will be awarded a win in PDGA.
All AM divisions will receive AM's merchandise credit to use immediately following the completion of their divisions rounds to be used the day of event. There will be merchandise on hand to exchange. Open players will receive their payouts via PayPal electronically.
It is on each player to know the PDGA rules and guidelines. It is on each card to make sure you are on the appropriate tee. It's easy to go to the wrong hole sometimes, so make sure the card confirms they are on the correct tee pad for each hole.
It's going to be a great late afternoon/early afternoon round. Again, we are excited that you are going to join us.
See you at the course!
Josh and Cheryl Terwilleger
