Good evening. I am super excited that you signed up to be part of our "Night Flights" at the Vineyard on Thursday, 9/18/2025. This will be a 1 round PDGA C-Tier. We will do a shotgun start at 6p sharp.
If you decide to withdraw from the event, you must do so by 1p on day of event for a refund.
Cheryl and I will be at tournament central, which will be next to 6's tee pad. This is the most central part to have tournament central. We will begin check in around 530p. We will have a shotgun start at 6p. I will post hole assignments by around 2p on event day, since registration will be open until them. They will be found at:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/96481
With doing a shotgun start, make sure you are at your hole by 558p when we will yell "two minutes". Please be aware that the course is not shut down for this event, so be mindful and considerate of casuals who may be on the course. It's important that we all play nice together.
Here is the schedule of events. The schedule will look like this:
530-550p - Player Check In
6p - Shotgun Start
@8p- Awards/payouts
For those in the ACE fund, payouts will be done electronically this year. If an ACE isn't hit, it will be donated to the UC Discats.
We will be using PDGA Live for all scoring, and a reminder that everyone needs to keep score now (PDGA live, Udisc or paper copy). The PDGA Live access code is: vineyard918
We are playing the regular 18 holes. This will be in PDGA live.
The 3 holes with the most action and discussion are 1, 8, and 15. PLEASE NOTE:
Hole 1 - we are going to switch it up. All pavement on hole 1 will be treated like a pond/river. So anything surrounded by pavement is OB. We are not using the drop zone. We have tried several different ways to play this hole, it is doesn't seem fair that you could purposely throw on to the pavement a few feet from the tee, move to the drop zone and have a putt for par. So any shot that goes OB will be marked back in 1 meter where it crossed with a penalty stroke.
Hole 8 - we play this as an island. If you miss the island on the tee shot, go to the drop zone with penalty stroke. Any other shots that go OB from the island will be marked back in bounds with a penalty stroke.
Hole 15 - Because there isn't much of a bail out on the right side like on hole 1, we do play the drop zone on this hole. Any shot that goes on to the pavement goes to the drop zone with penalty stroke
All other OB is mainly roads/pavement/surrounded by water in pond.
Cards will be made of of primarily 3-4 players. Depending on numbers, we may have to mix some divisions. We will do our best to make sure everyone is with at least 1 person from their division.
In the event there is a tie, we will have the playoff start on HOLE 6 and go until there is a winner. Since Tournament Central is there, that is where we have elected to start the playoffs.
All AM divisions will receive AM's merchandise credit to use immediately following the completion of their divisions rounds to be used the day of event. There will be merchandise on hand to exchange. Open players will receive their payouts via PayPal electronically.
It is on each player to know the PDGA rules and guidelines. It is on each card to make sure you are on the appropriate tee. It's easy to go to the wrong hole sometimes, so make sure the card confirms they are on the correct tee pad for each hole.
It's going to be a great late afternoon/early afternoon round. Again, we are excited that you are going to join us.
See you at the course!
Josh and Cheryl Terwilleger
