Crossover Disc Golf proudly presents: "Crossover Frosty Fling Series 2024".
This Frosty Fling series will be 7 events, and each one is PDGA C-Tier 1 rounder. The courses are:
1/6 - Harbin
1/21 - Monroe
1/28 - Osage Grove (Reds)
2/3 - County Farm
2/11 - Heritage
2/25 - Millikin
3/9 - Idlewild
These tournaments will be a 1 round with shotgun start beginning at 10a. At this point the plan is just the regular holes, with maybe an additional few temp holes added in depending on interest.
The cost for all divisions will be $25. There needs to be at least 3 players in a division to field one, unless otherwise approved by the TD's. Division winners for each event will win a bag tag. At the end of the series, the division points winner will receive a trophy. In order for a division to have a trophy and points winner, there needs to be at least 3 events that fielded that division.
Please be versed on PDGA rules for 2024. A few of importance:
Check in - every player must check in or risk being removed and losing their entry fee (1.04 A and B)
Pace of Play - TD's can put slow cards on the clock and issue penalties for slow play (3.02)
Unplayable lies - There is a false rumor going around that players can take 2 meters FREE relief from thorns/brush/whatever. The only free relief has to be defined by the TD before the event. If not, you have to take an unplayable lie. Please reference the PDGA rules on this. 802.05 is the lie and 803 is about relief from obstacles.
Winter Series are full of fundraising opportunities all over, and this will be part of that. We will be raising money for the North Dearborn Pantry like we have in previous years. If an ACE is not hit during the round, it will be donated to the pantry.
All AM's will compete for Crossover Cash, and the Open players will be sent their winnings thru PayPal.

This is a COLT series qualifier. What's that mean?
We wanted to reward the pros who finish at the top locally, and also to help grow the MA1/FA1 and age protected AM divisions if possible.
So how does one qualify? Obviously, the COLT Finale is for the cream of the crop. In each of the events that are labeled "COLT" at the end, that means for all Open divisions, MA1/FA1 and age protected AM's, if they finish in the top 20% of their division, they will be added in to the finale. You don't have to play every event that is a COLT event. The finale is on September 28. https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Crossover_COLTS_Finale_2024
Obviously the more you play, the more chances you have to qualify, and/or selfishly limit the field for the finale by finishing in the top 20% if you have already qualified.
Here are the numbers to qualify per division in each event. This represents the top 20%:
1 to 5 players qualifies 1
6 to 12 players qualifies 2
13 to 17 players qualifies 3
18 to 22 players qualifies 4
23 to 27 players qualifies 5
28 to 32 players qualifies 6
33 to 37 players qualifies 7
38 to 42 players qualifies 8
43 to 47 players qualifies 9
48 to 52 players qualifies 10
in the event of tie, players would qualify
if the chart says 2 qualify, but say there was 1st place and 2 way tie for 2nd, they’d all 3 qualify
It’s # of players not finishing position
To make sure we are clear, the divisions that are trying to qualify for the finale are:
-Open Divisions Male/Female - MPO/FPO, MP40/FP40, MP50/FP50, MP60/FP60, MP70/FP70
-MA1/FA1
-Age protected AM's - MA40/FA40, MA50/FA50, MA60/FA60, MA70/FA70
If you qualify for more than one division, you can select which you want in the finale. Also PDGA division guidelines apply. So an AM can try to qualify in MPO, and Pros under 970 rated can play AM divisions they are eligible for per PDGA chart.
Everyone is eligible for the COLT series. It might mean playing up in MA1/FA1 to qualify, or playing age protected AM's, but everyone has a chance to qualify.
Keep throwing forward! We hope to see you out soon!
