Good evening.
I wanted to get this tournament email out this evening. Cheryl and I are super excited about the Frosty Fling #3 that will be at Osage Grove in Goshen, Ohio. This event will be on Sunday, 1/28. This will be a 1 round PDGA C-tier that will shotgun start at 10a.
The following will be the most important details for the event. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions or comments before the event. If you have any questions or issues in regards to the tournament, please text/call Cheryl at 513-348-6140. She'll be the TD for this event.
We are playing the original 19 holes, and 1 temp for 20 holes. It should be a fun and challenging day for everyone. The course flows well. Please note that there has been rain this week, and melting snow/ice, so the course is going to be wet in spots. If the tee on 1 and/or old 1/19 are wet, you may stand beside the tee pad to tee off.
Please note that the tee pad in play for old 1/hole 19 is the back rubber mat. There is a bench beside it. These are the only 2 allowed.
Also, please remember that in 2024 everyone needs to keep a form of scoring. At least needs to be PDGA live. We will have scorecards for those who might want to keep it this way.
All course particulars are in PDGA live. The only OB will be on hole 6 if you reach the creek and are surrounded by water. All other water in ditches, standing water, etc, will be played as free casual relief away from the basket as PDGA allows. If you encounter any barbwire fence, you get 2 meters of relief.
The layout will look like this. Remember it is the RED tees to the shortest basket in place.
1-13 red
15 red, 14 red, 16-18 red
temp tee to practice basket,
19/old one
Holes with 2 baskets are: 6, 8, 14, 16, 18. We will play the SHORT baskets on these holes.
PDGA live code: osage128
The schedule will look like this for the day:
9-950a player check in shelter
10a - Shotgun Start
Awards
I can't stress enough, please take the short amount of time to physically check in with us. This helps us make sure that everyone is here, and there are no holes with less than 3 players. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but it causes us issues trying to figure out if you are present or not. Please, please, please, just stop by and check in with us. Thank you in advance for this! In the case that someone doesn't show up and your card has less than 3 at tee off, you will have to grab a player from a card near by. If everyone checks in, this shouldn't be an issue.
Cards will be made up with pace of play in mind. Some cards will be mixed based on numbers in divisions.
Also, just a reminder, that any junior younger than 13 must have a parent/guardian on their card. There are many juniors now signing up in non-junior divisions, so we don't always catch this beforehand. Please advise and follow the PDGA guidelines on junior players.
We are not going to have a players meeting. It is your responsibility to know what's expected for the day and be at your hole for the start of each round. Hole assignments will be posted Sunday morning. We have too often posted them the night before, then they change. It's easier with shotgun starts to just wait until the morning. Thanks for your understanding.
The link with hole assignments will be here:

If you decide that this event is not for you, to receive a refund, you must withdraw by 5p Saturday (1/27).
Following the round, please give us a few minutes to get everything organized so we can hand out awards and payouts. If you are curious if you are going to get a payout, it is the top 40% per division by the PDGA. That will help you determine if you need/want to stick around. The Open players will receive cash/PayPal, and the AM's Crossover Cash. This can be exchanged for disc golf merchandise that we will have on hand.
As posted in DGS, if no one hits an the ACE fund, we will donate it to the North Dearborn Pantry. In years past we have donated to them, and we want to keep that tradition alive. Winter Series are typically about donating to worthy causes, and it's important to us to do that as well.
In the event there is a tie for first place in a division, the playoff will start on hole #1 until there is a winner, playing the layout from round 1.
This is a PDGA event, so everyone should be up to date on the PDGA's stance on what is legal and what is not legal. Please don't put Cheryl or myself in position to make a call that we don't want to address, or should have to address.
It's going to be a great day. Please contact us with any questions you may have!
Thanks,
Josh and Cheryl
