Hello Josh and Cheryl,
Thank you for organizing this tournament and going out to the course today to check the conditions. Please forgive my questions if these are obvious for regulars at Heritage Park. I was there for the first time last Saturday and I found that many of the posted OBs (on the tee signs) are completely impossible to determine. Maybe they were previously high grass that is no longer there this time of year or has been mown. Your statement of "we will use OB": Does this only apply to paths? Does this apply to bamboo? Does this apply to current and obvious high grass (for example, hole 18)? Does this apply to the tree line and somewhat high grass on the left side over the last few holes? The original course layout (according to the tee signs) has a butt load of OB. A bit of clarification would be greatly appreciated. I don't know how normal OB is handled by regulars to this course.

Again, thank you for your efforts for the Crossover tournaments! This is my first. I hope my questions are not too ridiculous for those who feel the explanation is obvious.

Good evening.

I just wanted to send out another email about Sunday's event.

Cheryl and I went out to Heritage tonight to check on it. At the present, the roads getting there are a non-issue. The park road
had not been plowed and also the parking lot. Maybe that will happen tomorrow.

The course is obviously covered with snow. There is maybe an inch of powdery snow on top of the sleet/ice base. You can see grass peaking through the snow all over the course. The tee pads are covered, and from previous experience, it is best to keep them as is and NOT shovel them. This would just expose the ice and make them slippery. I will get out there Sunday morning and mark our tee area for each hole. As far as the paths and OB, it was pretty clear to identify the paths from the grass, even with snow on them. So we will use OB.

At this point it's your call if you want to use chalk/ribbons. It didn't appear to be something that will be a big issue, but I definitely
wouldn't bring a white disc and throw it without marking it somehow. We will still enforce the strict 3 minutes for lost discs whether that is in the snow, the high grass, or the bamboo.

We are at 72 players and the tee times have been posted. We will not go over 72 players, and will keep cards at 4 players each.

If you decide to drop due to weather concerns, I will extend the drop time for full refund to noon tomorrow (Saturday).

Good evening!

I wanted to get this tournament email out this evening. Cheryl and I are super excited about the upcoming Crossover Winter Classic #3 at Heritage this Sunday.

The following will be the most important details for the event. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions or
comments before the event.

As most of you have probably heard by now, we are supposed to get snow/ice late Wednesday night through Friday. I've had several people message me today asking if we are still going to have it. We are going to hold it regardless of the weather coming our way, unless for some reason the county is under a level that does not allow travel on the roads (very doubtful this happens).

So let's address the snow. Last year we had an event at Osage Grove with like 8 inches of snow. And we had a full field with very few who dropped. I can tell you from playing in snow events, you are going to want to either do the chalk method or use the ribbons strategy for finding your discs. Most people love the ribbons and do this method, but some prefer marking their disc with chalk before throwing. Please come with a plan of attack. We will adhere to the strict 3 minutes on lost discs. Even if you know it was in the middle of the fairway. Discs hit and slide feet away sometime from where they hit. There is nothing more frustrating to a field at a tournament, than when someone comes unprepared and holds up everyone repeatedly. Please don't be that person. Thank you in advance!

If for any reason (weather, change of plans, sickness, etc...) you need to drop, please do so by 8p on Friday for a full refund.

Ok, let's dive in to the event particulars.

The event is Sunday, 2/6 at Heritage. It's a 1 rounder of 18 holes.

The schedule will look like this for the day:
9-940a - Player check in (it will be by hole #1 shelter)
9:40-9:45a - Players Meeting
10a - Shotgun Start
@1p - Awards and payouts

PLEASE CHECK IN. It takes less than a minute and let's us know if you are here, and also helps us make sure each
card has 3 people.

It's going to be a fun day and event. The layout is shorter, and pretty efficient. It will be a very friendly layout. The only OB will be on the holes with the walking path that weaves through the course, which will be on or over the path for OB. We will have everything listed on the scorecards for Sunday. IF snow has everything covered, we will play NO OB layout. We will let you know at the player meeting.

I will have hole assignments up by Friday, but just know that they could change due to players dropping/adding last minute.

For those who are in the ACE fund, if no ACE is hit, we will do a throw off where winner takes all.

In the event there is a tie for first place, they playoff will start on hole #1 until there is a winner.

At the completion of the round, we will do awards and payouts. As per PDGA, the top 40% will receive a payout. The Open players will receive cash/PayPal, and the AM's Crossover Cash. This can be exchanged for disc golf merchandise that we will have on hand.

We will use PDGA Live scoring. The access code is: crossover

This is a PDGA event, so everyone should be up to date on the PDGA's stance on what is legal and what is not legal.

As all TD’s stress nowadays, you have to jump early on events. We have others open currently for March/April. There are way too many players right now, and not enough local evevts for the demand.
