Good morning!
I wanted to get this tournament email out this morning. Cheryl and I are super excited about the upcoming Crossover Winter Classic #1 at Osage Grove this Sunday (1/9).
The following will be the most important details for the event. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions or
comments before the event.
The event is a 1 rounder of 22 holes.
The schedule will look like this for the day:
9-940a - Player check in (it will be in the shelter)
9:40-9:45a - Players Meeting
10a - Shotgun Start
@1p - Awards and payouts
It's going to be a fun day and event. The layout is shorter, and pretty efficient. It will be a very friendly layout. We will be playing holes 1-18 all from the RED tees. We will add in Old 1/Hole 19 and letter holes A, B, and E only. This will give us 22 holes for the round.
For the flow of the day, the order of the holes will go like this on the scorecard:
Old 1/Hole 19 - only OB is surrounded by water in creek right (very hard to get to....but possible)
1 - NO OB
A - OB only in creek surrounded by water
B - OB only in creek surrounded by water (go to E after this hole by walking up hole C's Fairway then turning left)
E - NO OB
2-5 - NO OB
6 - OB only in creek surrounded by water
7-13 - NO OB
15 - NO OB (go to 15 after hole 13)
14 - NO OB (go to hole 14 after 15)
16 - NO OB (go to hole 16 after 14)
17-18 - NO OB
Again, we are playing the RED tees on all holes, and to the shortest basket on holes that have multiple baskets (14, 16, 18). Old hole 1/hole 19 only has one usable tee pad so it is the RED tee pad for this event.
Please look at the forecast one more time by this evening to determine if you are still wanting to play. At the time of this email, it seems there is an 80% chance of rain Sunday morning. To receive a full refund, you must withdraw by 8p tonight (Friday).
I will have hole assignments up by tonight, but just know that they could change due to players dropping/adding last minute.
For those who are in the ACE fund, if no ACE is hit, we will do a throw off. This is the time of year that tournaments raise money for charities. Our selected is the North Dearborn Pantry. If there is no ACE, 50% will go to the charity, and the winner of the throw off will get the other 50%.
In the event there is a tie for first place, they playoff will start on hole #1 until there is a winner.
At the completion of the round, we will do awards and payouts. As per PDGA, the top 40% will receive a payout. The Open players will receive cash/PayPal, and the AM's Crossover Cash. This can be exchanged for disc golf merchandise that we will have on hand.
We will use PDGA Live scoring. The access code is: classic
This is a PDGA event, so everyone should be up to date on the PDGA's stance on what is legal and what is not legal.
It's going to be a great day. Please contact us with any questions you may have!
We will see you Sunday!
Thanks,
Josh and Cheryl
