Good evening. We wanted to send out some info in regards to the event on Sunday.
Thanks for signing up to play "Throw Green 2023" event with us on 3/5 at Cedar Grove. The event will be 2 rounds, and is a PDGA C tier. We will be playing GREEN both rounds.
To address the course after the rain. A few holes will have some slick spots to them. Luckily the sun was out today and most of it drains very well. There were a few trees down, but they have been moved out of play.
When you come to our house, the address is 21208 Meadow Lane, 47041. Our driveway is a shared driveway. Ours is the first driveway to the RIGHT. You will see a little planter that looks like a disc golf basket with our address on it. Look to the right and that's it.
For the day, we have a lot of fun planned. It will be a shotgun start at 10a. Check in will be inside the garage with Cheryl starting at 915a. When you arrive, I will be outside to help you get parked. We will park as many as we can on the gravel area. And those who have to park on the grass, it actually isn't that bad.
The course has 25 holes. The GREEN layout is our shortest and friendliest. There are plenty of ACE runs and birdies to be had. BUT there is still enough of Cedar Grove in it to still be a little BRUTIFUL.
We will provide lunch during the break. We will do our best to give you at least 45 minutes for the break, with closer to an hour the goal. It will be simple with it being a Turkey or Ham sandwich, chips, cookies, and drinks. If you would like to bring your own lunch, that is fine as well. There are not many options out here, so I would plan on eating here, because we have had people attempt to go out, and then miss a hole or 2 in the 2nd round. We don't want that to be you.
There is an ACE fund which $3 of your entry fee covers. If there are no aces hit, then we will do a throw off on hole 1. It's always a fan favorite. However, Vegas called and with 35 players throwing 1750 tee shots on GREEN between the 2 rounds, I seriously doubt we have a throw off. If you hit an ACE, you will join the ACE List in the kiosk on hole 1.
We are excited as this event will officially kick off the year for us. We have done a tone of work to get ready, and a little extra due to mother nature the past few weeks. It's all good. The newest holes for people will be #4 and #5. They are still a little raw, but not bad. The poor players who played it back in January when they were brand new, will enjoy them much better this go round. Please note that the sinkhole on hole 23 now has rocks in it, and is play it as it lies.
All hole and course particulars will be in PDGA live. Please feel free to use the tee signs for reference, but PDGA live is what we will go by, which might be slightly different than what is on the signs. The passcode for the event is: green
The cards will be made up primarily of 4's and 5's the first round with several hole gaps in between card. Each round will still be 2 hours or under. This layout is extremely efficient. The 2nd round might be groups of 3's and 4's. Pace of play is very important. Please keep moving. There is a lot of OB and such, but keep others in mind with your pace of play.
For those of you who want an extra round in following the event, there is a Sunday Funday round which is the PURPLE layout. It's $5 to play that.
Hole assignments will be posted in the AM.
Again, we are excited to see you all on Sunday. Have a great weekend, and we will see you ready to take down Cedar Grove. We hope it’s the most “Brutiful” course you’ll ever play!
Thanks,
Josh and Cheryl
