Good evening. I am super excited that you signed up to be part of our "Spring Thursday Night Flights #2" at Vineyard. This will be a 1 round PDGA C-Tier on Thursday, 4/6. We will do a shotgun start at 6p sharp.
Thanks for supporting one of our new endeavors of week night PDGA C Tiers. Having over 50 signed up, shows there is a market, and also that the Vineyard is a course that players of all skill levels enjoy.
Please note, this is the first PDGA event on record at the Vineyard. Which is exciting, and also means there could be some growing pains as we figure things out. I have went through and made the course particulars as detailed as possible. I tried to not go overboard, but some holes have a lot of things going on that need to be addressed.
I have attached pics of what is in PDGA live. This is what we will go with. I realize that it might not be as you and your buddies play it, or previous things there, but this is what seems to be fair for all and consistent with how we run our events.
All water outside of the pond/lake is considered casual water and free relief. Even the little creek that sometimes has water and sometimes doesn't. We have received quite a bit of rain. I will walk the course tomorrow and let everyone know of any changes. Plan on it being wet/muddy in spots.
I will be at tournament central, which will be located by 6's tee in the parking lot. I will begin check in around 515p. We will have a shotgun start at 6p. I will post hole assignments by 3p tomorrow. They will be found at:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/69063
With doing a shotgun start, make sure you are at your hole by 558p when we will yell "two minutes". Please be aware that the course is not shut down for this event, so be mindful and considerate of casuals who may be on the course. This is our first event at the Vineyard, so let's do everything we can to keep a great working relationship going forward.
Here is the schedule of events. The schedule will look like this:
515-550p - Player Check In
6p - Shotgun Start
@730p - Awards/payouts
For those in the ACE fund, if there is not one hit, we will do a throw off where the winner takes all. The closest disc wins. ACE fund payouts will be done electronically this year.
We will be using PDGA Live for all scoring, and then a secondary form of scoring per card (PDGA live, Udisc or paper copy). The PDGA Live access code is: vineyard
Cards will be made of of primarily 4 players. Depending on numbers, we may have to mix some divisions. We will do our best to make sure everyone is with at least 1 person from their division.
All AM divisions will receive AM's Crossover cash immediately following the completion of their divisions rounds. There will be merchandise on hand to exchange in the Crossover Cash. Open players will receive their payouts via PayPal electronically.
It is on each player to know the PDGA rules and guidelines. It is on each card to make sure you are on the appropriate tee. It's easy to go to the wrong hole sometimes, so make sure the card confirms they are on the correct tee pad for each hole.
It's going to be a great night. Again, we are excited that you are going to join us.
See you Thursday night!
