Good evening. I am super excited that you signed up to be part of our "Spring Friday Night Flights #2" at Boone Woods. This will be a 1 round PDGA C-Tier on Friday, 4/7. We will do a shotgun start at 6p sharp.
Thanks for supporting one of our new endeavors of week night PDGA C Tiers. Having over 50 signed up, shows there is a market, and also that Boone Woods is a course that players of all skill levels enjoy.
It is important that I put in here my little pep talk on pace of play. With a shotgun start, there is no reason for any group to get multiple holes behind. Please do your part to keep things flowing. Boone Woods flows well, and should be fine before sunset, but definitely need everyone to be aware or pace of play to ensure everyone finishes with daylight.
While there have been many events at Boone Woods, this will be our first PDGA C-Tier there. Everything will be in the PDGA Live particulars for each hole, but a few things of note are this:
-Hole 4 - OB is on pavement/building. There will be a marked drop zone. That's the only OB for the hole
-Long tee pads on holes 5, 13, and 18 (the one closest to the basketball court)
-Most OB is just on/over pavement and there are no mandos or islands in play
There has been a lot of rain lately. Any standing water will be played as casual water. Plan on it being wet/muddy in spots.
Cheryl and I will be at tournament central, which will be the shelter by 18's basket. We will begin check in around 515p. We will have a shotgun start at 6p. I will post hole assignments by 3p tomorrow. They will be found at:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/69064
With doing a shotgun start, make sure you are at your hole by 558p when we will yell "two minutes". Please be aware that the course is not shut down for this event, so be mindful and considerate of casuals who may be on the course. It is the beginning of nice weather, and it is important that we all coexist.
Here is the schedule of events. The schedule will look like this:
515-550p - Player Check In
6p - Shotgun Start
@730p - Awards/payouts
For those in the ACE fund, if there is not one hit, we will do a throw off where the winner takes all. The closest disc wins. ACE fund payouts will be done electronically this year.
We will be using PDGA Live for all scoring, and then a secondary form of scoring per card (PDGA live, Udisc or paper copy). The PDGA Live access code is: boone
Cards will be made of of primarily 4 players. Depending on numbers, we may have to mix some divisions. We will do our best to make sure everyone is with at least 1 person from their division.
All AM divisions will receive AM's Crossover cash immediately following the completion of their divisions rounds. There will be merchandise on hand to exchange in the Crossover Cash. Open players will receive their payouts via PayPal electronically.
It is on each player to know the PDGA rules and guidelines. It is on each card to make sure you are on the appropriate tee. It's easy to go to the wrong hole sometimes, so make sure the card confirms they are on the correct tee pad for each hole.
It's going to be a great night. Again, we are excited that you are going to join us.
See you Friday night!
Josh and Cheryl
