Good evening. I hope everyone is having a good week!
Crossover is proud to present: "Spring Bakers Dozen 2022". This event will be held at Cedar Grove in Sunman, Indiana.
As of now, the weather forecast is looking good for Sunday.
Just a quick reminder, I see several on the list that have never been to Cedar Grove. In no way is this intended to scare anyone off, but please check out Udisc if possible to read reviews and see some pictures.
Cedar Grove is a private course. It’s one of the most technical courses you’ll ever throw. There is OB on almost every hole, there are mandos, and islands, and hazards. There is a pond that people lose discs in. There are elevated baskets and baskets in trees. The course isn’t for everyone and we realize that. The vast majority love the course for its challenge, but some don’t find it enjoyable. With 4 rated rounds coming in to play, we just want to make sure people know what they are getting in to before the round.
The event is obviously on 4/10 at Cedar Grove (21208 Meadow Lane, 47041) in Sunman, Indiana. OUR HOUSE IS THE FIRST ON THE RIGHT ON MEADOW LANE. This tournament will be a 4 round event. We will begin the first round at 915a. Player check in is between 830-905a in the garage. We will do our player meeting outside the garage by the back porch. I will be outside to help get people parked. We will do our best to get as many as we can on the gravel. Please note, when you show up you will see a big wide open grassy area out front. You might be tempted to go out there and throw some to warm up. Please don't. That actually is not our property, and to keep a good relationship with our neighbors, it's important we stay off their property. They have made it clear to us, the don't want people on their property. So thank you in advance for respecting this request.
We did get some rain today, and there looks like a chance of rain on Friday. Parts of the course might be a little mushy on Sunday. Also, before anyone passes a hat to chip in to get us a new mower, we actually don't need one. We have seeded and over seeded several holes, so we aren't mowing it for a few more weeks. Having said that, it really isn't that bad, it's more the wild onions in spots.
Here's a breakdown of the day:
Rounds 1 and 2 will be before lunch. It will be the purple layout 13 holes, 2 times through
Lunch - provided
Rounds 3 and 4 will be after lunch. It will be the blue layout 13 holes, 2 times through
Awards
The max amount of players is 39. Which means we will have 3 people on a hole. The 13 hole layouts flow well, and should be spaced out pretty well. This works out great for pace of play at our course. We might mix some divisions as needed.
We will then take an hour lunch break. We are providing lunch for everyone. There will be sandwiches, chips, dessert, and drinks. There are not many food options closed to us, so if you decide to do lunch on your own, please plan accordingly.
There is an optional ACE fund ($5). We also have a "Bounty List" of holes that if you get a 2 on it, you get either the full or partial amount of the bounty fund. It is currently at $100. If it isn't hit, we will add $25 to the next event at Cedar Grove. We will have the bounty list hanging up for you.
We have posted the hole layouts in the picture section on Disc Golf Scene. We will post hole assignments and cards by Saturday night (if not sooner since we are full).
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. If you decide that this just isn't for you, and I'm not trying to talk you
out of it, please withdraw by 8p on Friday night.
Thanks and we will see you Sunday morning.
