Good evening. I am super excited that you signed up to be part of our Crossover Women's World Championships at Woodland Mound on 6/25. This will be a 2 round PDGA C-Tier. We will do a shotgun start at 930a.
Please be aware that with the nice weather, I would expect the gate attendants to be in their little shacks as you enter the park. So you might have to buy at pass. They have daily ($8) and yearly options ($20). We will be running at least 10 events here the rest of the year, if that helps you decide which way to go.
If you decide to withdraw, please do so by 5p Saturday for a refund.
Cheryl and I will be at tournament central, which will be located across from #1 tee pad. We will be located to the right of the Visitors center in the "Badger Bluff" area that has the picnic tables and area we will take over. We will begin check in around 830a. We will have a brief players meeting around 915a, with a first round shotgun start around 930a. My plan is to have hole assignments posted by 9p Saturday evening. They will be found at:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/66770
With doing a shotgun start, make sure you are at your hole by 928a when we will yell "two minutes". Please be aware that the course is not shut down for this event, so be mindful and considerate of casuals who may be on the course.
When you check in, we will have a few items for your player pack. Each player will get a shirt (there are both women's sizes/unisex sizes), a chalk bag, a choice of either a towel, water bottle or knee pad, and a few other misc items. We will be providing lunch if you are interested in that. It will be a lunchmeat sandwich, chips, dessert, and fruit, and cold water to drink.
Here is the schedule of events. The schedule will look like this:
830-915a - Player Check In
915a - Brief players meeting
930a - Shotgun Start
@11a - Lunch
@12p - 2nd round
@2p - Awards/payouts
The day belongs to you ladies, and we hope to give you a great event that focuses on you. At lunch we will have a basket to do a few rounds of ring of fire for those of you who may be interested in trying to win a few extra prizes.
For those in the ACE fund, if there is not one hit, we will do a throw off where the winner takes all. The closest disc wins. ACE fund payouts will be done electronically this year.
We will be using PDGA Live for all scoring, and then a secondary form of scoring per card (PDGA live, Udisc or paper copy). The PDGA Live access code is: woodland625
As far as course particulars go, there is NO OB. It's a very friendly layout, that hopefully is a fun and enjoyable round for everyone. Obviously it's a competition, but celebrating the disc golf game of women is what we are most excited about. Hopefully we can continue to build on this for the future. So thank you for being part of this event.
All AM divisions will receive AM's Crossover cash immediately following the completion of their divisions rounds. There will be merchandise on hand to exchange in the Crossover Cash. Open players will receive their payouts via PayPal electronically.
It is on each player to know the PDGA rules and guidelines. It is on each card to make sure you are on the appropriate tee. It's easy to go to the wrong hole sometimes, so make sure the card confirms they are on the correct tee pad for each hole.
It's going to be a great day. Again, we are excited that you are going to join us and can't wait to see you on Sunday.
See you Sunday!
Josh and Cheryl Terwilleger
