Good evening!
I wanted to get this tournament email out this evening. Cheryl and I are super excited about the upcoming Crossover Cheryl's Choice 3 event at Osage Grove this Sunday (5/15). This is a 1 round, 27 hole PDGA C-tier event.
The following will be the most important details for the event. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions or
comments before the event.
The event is a 1 rounder of 27 holes. We are playing all 24 Osage Grove holes, plus 3 temp holes. It should be a fun and challenging day for everyone. This is an AM only event, and as the namesake suggests, Cheryl chooses the layout. Osage Grove will always be our first "home" course, and it is always great to get back to it for events.
Here is the layout. It is very friendly for all skill levels, just as Cheryl's choice for the day is for everyone. We are playing all RED tees, except #18. We will throw the BLUE on 18. If you are new to the course, you will understand why when you get there Sunday. To everyone else, they get it. We are also going to be playing the short baskets on 14, 16, and 18.
The order will go like this on the scorecard:
1, A-E, 2-18, 19, Temp 1, Temp 2, Temp 3
The only OB is on letter A, B, C, D and hole 6 if you are surrounded by water in the creek
The 3 temp holes will not be set up until Sunday morning. They will be very friendly and fun, with none of them over 200 feet.
The schedule will look like this for the day:
8-845a - Player check in by hole 1 (look for the blue Ford truck)
845a - Brief players meeting
9a - Shotgun start
@12p - Awards and payouts
I can't stress enough, please take the short amount of time to physically check in with us by hole 1. This helps us make sure that everyone is here, and there are no holes with less than 3 players. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but it causes us issues trying to figure out if you are present or not. Please, please, please, just stop by and check in with us. Thank you in advance for this!
The access code is: cheryl
If you decide that this event is not for you, to receive a full refund, you must withdraw by 8p Friday.
I will have hole assignments up by Saturday night, but just know that they could change due to players dropping/adding last minute. With the 108 cap, our goal is 4 per card. Cards are grouped randomly by division by PDGA. Since this is a shotgun start, there is no need for special requests because everyone starts and ends about the same time. Being a competitive and sanctioned event, we don't group friends up for that reason. Also, just know that some cards might be mixed divisions due to numbers in each division.
Following the round, please give us a few minutes to get everything organized so we can hand out awards and payouts. With 108 people, that is a lot to work through. If you are curious if you are going to get a payout, it is the top 40% per division by the PDGA. That will help you determine if you need/want to stick around. The AM's will receive Crossover Cash. This can be exchanged for disc golf merchandise that we will have on hand.
For those who are in the ACE fund, if no ACE is hit, we will do a throw off. The winner of the throw off will win the whole ace pot.
In the event there is a tie for first place in a division, they playoff will start on hole #1 until there is a winner, playing the flow of holes of the event (temp and letter holes included) from the RED tees.
This is a PDGA event, so everyone should be up to date on the PDGA's stance on what is legal and what is not legal.
It's going to be a great day. Please contact us with any questions you may have!
We will see you Sunday!
Thanks,
Josh and Cheryl
