Good morning. I wanted to get this tournament email out this morning. Kyle, Cheryl and I are super excited about the Crossover COLT finale on Saturday, 9/28 at Osage Grove in Goshen. This will be a 2 round PDGA B-tier that will have a shotgun start at 10a. The following will be the most important details for the event. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions or comments before the event.
PLEASE NOTE- We will be setting up tournament central close to hole 1 blue tee pad. Every player will receive a mini and Crossover tshirt as part of the players pack.
All course particulars will be in PDGA live. The only OB will be surrounded by water on hole 6, and surrounded by water. The rest of the holes will play any standing water or creek as casual relief. If somehow you land under a bridge, for this event, you may mark above your disc on the bridge. In the event you land next to barbwire fence, you do get 2 meter free relief from it.
The PDGA live code: colt928
First round we will play the BLUE layout. We are going to play the proper flow of the course. This will be blue tees to the longest basket in place. On holes 6, 8 (left), 12 (left), 14 (hanging), 16 (on mound), and 18, please be aware of which basket is in play.
After you finish hole 13, there is a path towards the right and the road that takes you out behind hole 15 basket. Please be aware of players potentially throwing towards 15 basket. There used to be a bridge that helped with this, but it was taken out. After playing
hole 14, which is the hanging basket, follow the path over to hole 15. Please use a spotter. This hole has not been properly maintained for awhile, but has been trimmed down some to give us a "fairway". After this hole, you'll walk over/past 14's tee pad to go to 16 which is really long. We are NOT playing old 1/hole 19 for this layout.
Second round we will be playing the RED layout. We are going to play to the shortest baskets in place this round. On holes 6, 8 (right), 12 (right), 14, 16 (in woods), and 18, please be aware of which baskets are in play. For this layout, we will use the RED layout flow. After hole 13, you will walk to the left and go to 15. After 15 you will play 14. After 14 you will play 16. If you haven't played Osage Grove before, it sounds super confusing, but will make sense when you see the layout. For this layout we will play Old 1/Hole 19.
In between holes 14/15, I will be trying something new. On 15's fairway, there will be a tree with a ribbon around it on the left side as a MANDO. From that tree to the road there will be a white line for OB. The Mando tree will be approximately 200 feet short of 15's basket. This is more for the RED layout to make the tee shot more challenging for tee shot. Again, it probably sounds more confusing than what it will be. This will only apply to hole 15.
The schedule will look like this for the day:
915-950a player check in
10a - Shotgun Start Lunch break after the completion of round 1 Round 2 Payouts and awards
Cards will be made up with pace of play in mind. Some cards will be mixed based on numbers in divisions.
We are not going to have a players meeting. It is your responsibility to know what's expected for the day and be at your hole for the start of each round. Hole assignments will be posted by 9p the evening prior to the event. You can find them here:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/84846
If you decide that this event is not for you, to receive a refund, you must withdraw by noon on Thursday 9/26.
Following the round, please give us a few minutes to get everything organized so we can hand out awards and payouts. If you are curious if you are going to get a payout, it is the top 45% per division by the PDGA. That will help you determine if you need/want to stick around. AM's will receive Crossover Cash. This can be exchanged for disc golf merchandise that we will have on hand.
In 2024, all players are required to keep score. Cheryl and I have not been doing this accurately in previous events, so it's important we get it right. Score needs to be in PDGA Live or Paper. Those are your 2 choices. All scores must be submitted or the player not submitting will be assessed a 2 stroke penalty per PDGA. 30 minutes following the end of the round they must be turned in. So please submit and finalize on PDGA live or turn in your scorecards.
Everyone that is in the ACE fund, if there is no ACE hit, we will do a throw off. The winner of the throw off will win the whole ace fund. We are now doing ACE payoffs electronically by PayPal.
In the event there is a tie for first place in a division, the playoff will start on hole #1 until there is a winner playing the same layout from round 1 with the same course particulars.
This is a PDGA event, so everyone should be up to date on the PDGA's stance on what is legal and what is not legal. Please don't put Cheryl or myself in position to make a call that we don't want to address, or should have to address.
It's going to be a great day. Please contact us with any questions you may have!
Thanks,
Josh, Cheryl, and Kyle
