Good evening!
I wanted to get this tournament email out this evening. Cheryl and I are super excited about the upcoming Crossover Acorn Toss 2 event at Millikin this Saturday (10/1). This is a 2 round, 24 hole PDGA C-tier event.
The following will be the most important details for the event. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions or
comments before the event. Cheryl is going to be the main TD for the event and not playing. Please text her at: 513-348-6140 for any questions or issues in regards to the tournament.
The event is a 2 rounder of 24 holes. We are playing all 18 Millikin holes, plus 6 temp holes. It should be a fun and challenging day for everyone.
Please note that there is a train track close the course. I do not know the train schedule, but make sure you plan to be there early enough that if you do catch it coming through, you will still be on time for the event.
Here is the flow of the course and the particulars. These are also posted in the event on Disc Golf Scene in the comments -

The distance for the temp holes are: A (180), B (235), C (265), D (240), E (230), F (225)
For all holes that include either the fence or the posts, it is a card call on if a disc is beyond the fence or posts to be determined as OB. If you cannot come up with a decision, play a provisional and take a picture. If it is that close, they are probably in and get 1 meter relief inbounds.
The course is marked with arrows and flags currently. It's possible that knuckleheads might pull up the flags. There is orange paint down on the ground. Any standing water on the course is played as casual relief, with no penalty.
The schedule will look like this for the day:
8-845a - Player check in at Shelter 11
9a - Shotgun Start 1st round
@12-1p - Lunch
@ 1p 2nd round
@ 4p Awards
I can't stress enough, please take the short amount of time to physically check in with us at Shelter 11. This helps us make sure that everyone is here, and there are no holes with less than 3 players. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but it causes us issues trying to figure out if you are present or not. Please, please, please, just stop by and check in with us. Thank you in advance for this! Plus, you can pick up your event tshirt when you check in.
It's going to be a fun day and event. The layout flows very well. We are not going to have a players meeting. It is your responsibility to know what's expected for the day and be at your hole for the start of each round. Hole assignments for round 1 will be posted on the PDGA page by 8p Friday evening. You can find them here:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/57250
For the flow of the day, the order of the holes will be on the physical scorecard and in PDGA Live. The access code is: acorn
If you decide that this event is not for you, to receive a full refund, you must withdraw by 8p Thursday night. After that it is 50% up until tee off.
Following the round, please give us a few minutes to get everything organized so we can hand out awards and payouts. With 96 people, that is a lot to work through. If you are curious if you are going to get a payout, it is the top 40% per division by the PDGA. That will help you determine if you need/want to stick around. The Open players will receive cash/PayPal, and the AM's Crossover Cash. This can be exchanged for disc golf merchandise that we will have on hand.
For those who are in the ACE fund, if no ACE is hit, we will do a throw off. The winner of the throw off will win the whole ace pot. It's currently over $300.
In the event there is a tie for first place in a division, they playoff will start on hole #1 until there is a winner, playing the flow of holes of the event (temp and letter holes included).
This is a PDGA event, so everyone should be up to date on the PDGA's stance on what is legal and what is not legal. Please don't put Cheryl or myself in position to make a call that we don't want to address, or should have to address.
It's going to be a great day. Please contact us with any questions you may have!
We will see you Saturday!
Thanks,
Josh and Cheryl
