Good morning. We wanted to send out some info in regards to the event Sunday.
Thanks for signing up to play "Cedar Grove Fall Fest - BLUE" event with us on 11/19 at Cedar Grove. The event will be 1 round, and is a PDGA C tier. We will throw the BLUE layout. It is our hardest, longest, and most brutiful layout we have.
When you come to our house, the address is 21208 Meadow Lane, 47041. Our driveway is a shared driveway. Ours is the first driveway to the RIGHT. You will see a little planter that looks like a disc golf basket with our address on it. Look to the right and that's it.
For the day, we will do a shotgun start at 10a. Check in will be inside the garage starting at 915a. When you arrive, I will be outside to help you get parked. For those who have to park in the yard, it isn't bad and we do it at all our events.
There is an optional ACE fund. If there are no aces hit, then we will do a throw off on hole 1. It's always a fan favorite. In the event of a tie for first, the players will start on hole 1 and follow the blue layout until there is a winner.
All hole and course particulars will be in PDGA live. Please feel free to use the tee signs for reference, but PDGA live is what we will go by, which might be slightly different than what is on the signs. The passcode for the event is: CG1119
Just a few reminders.
- It's Fall. Leaves are falling. Keep an eye on discs. I had the course looking pretty good then the rain and wind this morning made it look like I didn't do much out there. So be mindful of what color disc you are throwing and make sure the card is watching. There are a few spots where discs will slide under and it will be like snow trying to locate them.
- Any OB on the course does have rope down. Again with all the leaves down, it's probably going to be hard to find the rope in some spots. If you cannot locate it, go visual stake to stake to determine if OB. The disc would have to clearly be beyond the stakes visually.
- I went around last night after work and reswept off the tee pads. This should help eliminate slippery situations.
There have been some adjustments over the past few weeks. We did a few month trial of having the baskets on hole 3 and 17 out of the trees. And while some did like that, most agreed that it lost some Cedar Grove by doing that. So the baskets are back in the trees on those 2 holes. Here is a hole by hole summary of some of the holes that might have changed some over the past few months.
Hole 1 - Island is in play. All shots outside of the island are in the hazard and a penalty stroke
Hole 2 - Mando off of tee shot as marked and OB long only now
Hole 3 - Basket back in tree. Island is in play. If missed go to marked drop zone with penalty stroke
Hole 4 - "Long" basket (It's the only basket in place). NO OB just a Mando as marked
Hole 5 - Triple mando off of tee shot and double mando down by basket. NO OB
Hole 6 - Triple Mando off of tee shot and now and island green as marked. Anything past the white line is OB, minus the green that is marked.
Hole 7 - OB only over/thru fence to the right
Hole 8 - Basket is back under a much better tee pee. Mando off of tee as marked. NO OB
Hole 9 - OB only over/thru property fence
Hole 10 - The Heart - Mando left as marked. NO Island or OB
Hole 11 - Double mando off of tee. Only OB is down by basket with property barb wire fence marked with stakes
Hole 12 - NO OB
Hole 13 - Triple mando off of tee. No OB
Hole 14 - Double mando. NO OB
Hole 15 - OB only in pond
Hole 16 - Mando off of tee. NO OB
Hole 17 - Basket is back in tree (don't be short left). OB in pond
Hole 18 - Truckbed - Double mando off of tee. NO OB
Hole 19 - OB in pond or long as marked
Hole 20 - Island is in play. If missed go to marked drop zone.
The cards will be made up primarily of 3's and 4's. It should only be about 2 hours to play this layout.
Hole assignments will be posted Saturday PM. If you want to withdraw, to receive a refund, it must be submitted by 3p Saturday afternoon. You can find them here: https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/75406
Again, we are excited to see you all on Sunday. Have a great weekend, and we will see you ready to take down Cedar Grove. We hope it’s the most “Brutiful” course you’ll ever play!
Thanks,
Josh and Cheryl
