Hello Fellow Disc Golfers,
In this email, I’ll outline some reminders and important information to help make sure we have a fun and successful tournament tomorrow!
Disclaimer: I’m 17 years old and running my first tournament — thanks for your patience and support!
First, I want to thank everyone again for signing up to support this tournament fundraiser. Your contribution will directly benefit the construction of the new disc golf course at Chapel Hill High School. When I get going on building the course at Chapel Hill High School, I’ll keep everyone posted. I’m looking forward to working with anyone interested in helping or giving input! It truly means a lot!
The Course:
Rascal Valley was handbuilt by myself, my family, and my friends. The course is not perfect — it’s rough in some areas — but it’s full of heart!
Some of the baskets are homemade, and some have been borrowed from friends.
Tee pads are a mix of turf, dirt, and road surfaces.
This won’t be your typical polished course — please come with an open mind and be ready for a unique, backyard-style experience!
Location:
406 Homestead Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516
Look for the white picket fence.
Parking:
If you are a friend from school, please carpool or arrange to be dropped off if possible.
Otherwise:
First, try to park along Fells Way (a street next to our house near a grapevine).
If full, you can pull into our roundabout driveway where there will be additional space.
Day of Tournament:
Players are welcome to arrive any time before 10:30 AM to warm up. You are encouraged to check out the course beforehand.
Look for the old red and white pickup truck — that’s where Hole 1 begins.
I will be doing optional course walkthroughs at 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM for anyone who wants to get familiar with the layout.
At 10:30 AM, we’ll have a player meeting to go over:
Final details
Card assignments (group pairings)
Scoring system
We’ll then head out to play right after! So, please arrive at the meeting on time at 10:30.
Format:
First Round: Two loops of 9 holes (~10:45 AM to 12:45 PM apx.)
Lunch Break: ~12:45 PM to 1:45 PM apx.. (grill will be available for those interested)
Second Round: ~1:45 PM to 3:45 PM apx.
Awards & Ring of Fire: ~After final round apx. 4.00pm
Note: Times may shift slightly depending on play speed — please be flexible.
Scoring:
We will be using Google Spreadsheets to track scores.
You’ll get a link at the players meeting.
If there’s any connectivity issue, we’ll fall back to paper scorecards.
Amenities:
A bathroom will be available on site.
Again, during the break there will be food available for those who want it.
Final Notes:
Feel free to spread the word — last-minute players are still welcome!
Bring some extra cash if you want to participate in any side games.
Play is at your own risk — please be respectful of the property and each other.
Most of all: have fun and enjoy the day!
