I propose the next CHAINS to be held on Sunday 6/28. Mushrooms will already be in the A2 area that AM. We should play in the A2 area and hold CHAINS at a park in the city, West, Gallup, etc.

DAVIS! Hope to see you tomorrow, brah! Everyone else...we'll play a 11:00am..ish round on the TOBO. Format and buy in TBD, we'll decide tomorrow. After the round we'll set up CHAINS, beginning 3ish. It'll bee a casual putting contest and picnic. We'll play several different games, random draw partners for $1-$2 buy in per game. Since it's a putting picnic there will be emphasis on flexibility so players can come and go as they please. I'm gonna bring a ... more

CHAINS! I'll bee at the TOBO for an 11:00 round then we'll begin a CHAINS picnic around 3:00. Format will be slightly different than previous events to accomodate a more casual and flexible event. I'll bring out a bag of charcaol and lighter fluid as well as a propane grill. The picnic will be BYOB and food or potluck if you'd like to bring a dish to share. Also, games will most likely be $1 to $2 dollars and we'll play several. All are invited. Hope to see ya out! PEACE

It's a putting picnic. Not an actual tournament. Most likely double elimination bracket style. You have to be undefeated to win. It'll start late in the afternoon so no TD's need to bee offended. IT"S A PICNIC. I'll bee drinking beer, eating food and getting ****ED UP trying to run this thing. I'll need help counting numbers cause I most likely won't bee able to see straight. CHAINS=planned and coordinated debouchery.....

Anyways, what is this tournament format? Singles? Doubles? 2 rounds? 1?

I wouldn't play in the tournament either way, but the decline of DGLO as a prestigious tournament is comical. It used to be a premier event with some of the top pros attending. No I'm not talking about 10 years ago, I mean 3 years ago. Kevin, you need people who are willing to put in the time to bring it back to a premier status, although a well run LP Open could squash any chance of that.

Not sure how you fix the payouts, but maybe talk to Larry or Bruce. There's obviously ... more

Sorry Joe I do appologize for hijacking of the forum. Never seems to stop the complaining on A3's PDGA discussion board though.

As far as the plastic payouts at No-Foolin. I suggest you talk to the PDGA, because nothing that was done violated the PDGA suggested payouts. And we even bumped up the payouts from what was suggested. Yes there was the problem with 1 division, but we tried to take care of it after the spreadsheet was re-checked. Rooster, Do you have a suggestion on how tha ... more

if you are playing disc golf for money and not for enjoying the sport, i think it is time you did something else. payouts should just be a bonus.

let me rephrase, a3 sucks at running tourneys. look at this years no foolin'. you don't get a bad reputation for no reason. i do appreciate what they do outside of tourneys....has any other club been more instrumental in getting courses installed in MI?

Daemon Stahlin    May 26, 2009 at 9:27pm

yes agreed, rooster said it all. eloquence. a3 sucks balls! both courses at indy suck, and the course at lakeshore offends me highly.

please KW, i request fewer new courses paid for and installed by a3 in the future. with the money a3 saves by not paying for any more courses, all the really good am1's could now receive 10-15% more plastic for tournament payouts.

"Merging" the 101 (about the players) philosophy and still taking enough profit to be able to put in sweet courses like Lakeshore. . . Is that even a possible compromise? But if people stop going to A3 tournaments, where will the money come from?

So tell me what you want from A3. This is my first year on the board, what would you like me to get across. So far I've seen nothing but A3 doing the best they can and building the disc golf community. Can you give specific examples of what you want changed? I'm interested.
