Good evening and thank you for registering for the 2022 Buckhorn Open - Am Weekend.
I apologize for this email being later than promised - My day went sideways after I left work and I was occupied.
Now - to the event .
First and foremost thanks to CADL, Jay Pontier and the Wake Parks staff at the park for all they do. Be sure to tell them "thank you" when you see them this weekend.
Ground rules- NO alcohol ;no illicit substances. These are park rules and as such are tournement enforced.
Gates Open at 8:00. DO NOT arrive early and block the gate. The park staff really doesn't appreciate that. I will try to arrive at 87:01 and quickly get registration set up. Registration will start 8:15; it will close at 9:15. YOU MUST come and register your presence - elsewise you will be removed before the event starts. THERE IS NOT a formal players meeting - once you check in, your good to get to your starting hole and warm up.
2 Minutes will blow at 9:28. This will be two long horn blasts. Start will blow at 9:30. This will be a series of rapid horn blasts. In both cases, please pass the word along through the course.
Round 1 will be all Short / White tees.
After you have completed the round AND VERIFIED AND CONFIRMED YOUR SCORE - we will have a 1 hour period of lunch based on the LAST CARD .

The HOLE !% basket is in the "dam/pond" position all weekend.
Sunday will be TEE TIMES. The tee times will be posted Saturday before I leave the park. You will locate these on the PDGA event page for the event.
On Sunday the basket for HOLE 1 will be in the longer alternate position.
OBS
OBS are marked throught the course utilizing Orange and Red flags. Please Note:
There is a continuous line of flags that border the lake beginning behind Hole 8 all the way through the swamp area behind the basket of Hole 11. These flags are Orange and Red . Ignore any blue flags.
On Hole 10 - the flags behind the basket: The seawall facing the LONG TEE is flagged right against itself - the OB for this area is anything not on the wall or the putting area. HOWEVER you will see on the other bulkhead ( Facing the cooling tower / side towards 11 Tee ) the flags are closer to the water line creating a ledge/ shelf that is in Bounds.
Holee 10, 11 and 17 that force a water carry - Progressive Tees for OB:
10, 11 - If you go OB from 10 Blue / Long,, progress to the white / short pad , throwing three.
You may elect to automatically do so if you choose, forfeiting the long tee off, and go directly to the shorter tee throwing three.
Hole 17 - Progressive OB: All three rounds use the short tee. If you go OB BEFORE crossing the lake, you advance to the Drop Zone tee located right of the fence.
If you cross over and roll back OB, There is a drop Zone on the Basket side of the pond. It is between the 19 Tee and the 17 basket, near a large stump, and is marked with double red flags on each side of the tee area.
You may elect to forfeit your drive, and go to the first drop zone ( by the fence) throwing 3; Likewise you may elect to forfeit that throw and go to the second drop zone, starting by throwing 5.
Scoring will be by PDGA Live Scoring - the code is FGDG, With the new option for multiple players on a card to score, secondary scoring will be the app, with another player keeping the verifying score.
Lunch - I did NOT arrange a food vendor this year. Plan your lunch accordingly. Remeber - I will grant one hour from THE LAST CONFIRMED CARD of round 1 when setting the round 2 start time.
You do NOT have to check back in for round 2. Locate your starting hole on the PDGA event page and go directly there. The two minute and start procedure will be the same.
