Its now the 23rd of March. Time to crown our first Bull of the Woods Champions!! Buxton Woods presents its 1st Annual Bull of the Woods Random Doubles Tourney. I've heard alot of grumbling about Random Dubs instead of BYOP. There are tons of BYOP tourneys!! If you got game, you should be able to draw a partner with little or no experience and still win. Today we played and marked out the mandos for the tourney. Its long, its tough and its fun!! There are only 6 holes that require use of mando ribbon. The rest of the course plays pretty straight forward. We have collectively agreed to play a par 72 for 18 holes. It sounds like alot...because it is alot!! It will be a great time and the weather is looking perfect. Sunny and upper 60's. Trophies and cash for the winning Doubles team with pay-outs to as many places as we can. The more players ... more

WE have been getting alot of positive anticipation for this event, Snap. A contingent of Southeners is rolling up for it, I have had quite a few players verbally commit to being there and where else are you gonna play a fresh new lay-out, have a chance to win one of the 1st two trophies ever presented at Buxton Woods and have Chicken Fettucine for lunch?? Nuff said!!

I have received the trophies for the Winning Doubles Team at The Bull of the Woods!! In a word...SO SICK!! We will marking the course lay-out for the tourney on Wednesday this week. Come out and give the long hole lay-out a shot. Then be here Sunday to play for the title of Bull of The Woods Doubles Champs!! Gonna be a great time!

I have just ordered a sweet pair of trophies for the winning Doubles Team at the Bull Of The Woods!! One trophy for each member of the winning team plus cash. There will be plenty of CTP's to throw for also!! Mark the 23rd on your calender and come out for some amazing long holes and the area's newest 18 hole course. See you at The BUll of the Woods!!!

There are only a few holes that are reachable but the CTPs will mostly be after the rounds, Cody. The layout is big.

Hi. Will the layout be set up the day before ? Is it sequential based on the current positions, as in: pad 1 plays to 2's basket, then walk to 3's teepad and chuck to 4's basket, etc?

We will have the course lay-out marked for Mando's and O.B's a few days before the tourney. That sequence is correct but there will be ribbons up to differenciate fairways and mandatory turns thru the course. I hope that helps a bit.

If you are wanting to register for The Bull Of The Woods Random Draw Doubles Tourney, please shout out and I'll sign you up!! No pre-pay...Pay the day of the event!! We are having BBQ burgers/hot dogs for lunch, so a pre-registration helps us know how much food to prepare. We will be asking for but NOT requiring donations to the Cook Staff to offset the cost of food. Everybody eats no matter what!! This will be a big event for Buxton Woods and we are looking forward to having a great crowd of players!!
we all had a great time TD...And it was Erik from Salem...Lee from Aumsville...Tim from Corvallis...Kyle & Carl from Lebanon and Miss Jamie all the way from Springfield....but for all all to come together for an epic DG weekend up north it was no problem...we'll see ya again soon.
