Happy Friday Everyone! I hope your excited for this weekend and ready to play some disc golf.

Below in this email you will find your first round starting hole and position on the card. During check-in I will also have those hole assignments posted.
• If you are top of the card you will be issued a scorecard, bag and pencil at check-in. Since the PDGA digital scoring app cannot be used all groups will be issued a card each round.
• You do have the option, if all competitors on your assigned card agree, to use UDisc. The player logging scores on UDisc MUST ask each competitor their score, no assumptions and MUST allow everyone to confirm their score each hole and after the round to ensure accuracy.
For tomorrow when you arrive…
Per the requirements of the State of Delaware we encourage all participants utilize a mask or cloth face covering when in crowed areas. This would include:
- Tournament Central (Picnic Table near Parking Lot) during check-in, score card returns, players meeting and awards
- Putting Green or during the event while huddled on near a tee pad, Social Distancing of 6 feet between participants is strongly encouraged as well
- Parking lots during break

I also request your patience and cooperation with these guidelines for the comfort and safety of your fellow competitors. Additionally, I will add that the Delaware State Parks have had a very busy few months with several families and new players utilizing the disc golf courses so please thank our park staff when you see them. Lastly please keep this about disc golf and not your personal views regarding the social distancing guidelines.
Check-In…
1. Check-in at Picnic Table near Parking Lot – there will be a PRO line and an AMATEUR line.
• You still have the option to enter the CTP ($2) and the ACE POT ($2) if interested.
• If you still owe a variance or have not paid the entrance fee, payment is due upon check-in
• AMATEUR players will receive a disc, birdie mini and birdie decal. You will have the option of a splatter star Destroyer, Shryke, Corvette, Teedbird, TL3 or ROC3.
2. Meeting at the Pavilion prior to the first round (approximately 15 min). A mask or face covering must be worn in this area.
3. After the meeting you can proceed to your holes
• At 2-minutes you will hear 2 blasts from the airhorn
• Start will be 1 blast from the airhorn
General…
There are five competitors per hole, so speed of play is a factor…
• You have 30 seconds to play your lie, which means you should be thinking about what you would like to do prior to getting to your lie
• Lost discs – as mentioned prior, if you cannot locate your disc EVERYONE in the group MUST assist and a clock/timer MUST be used. After the 3-minutes the disc is considered lost and that player will receive 1 penalty stroke and must return to their previous lie. If you find the disc after the 3 minutes, it is still considered lost.
• No two-meter rule (just so everyone is clear 2 meters = 6.7 feet, NOT 3 feet).

Schedule: (approximate)
8am – 8:50am:
Registration/check-In, all participants are required to check-in at Pavilion 1 near the bathrooms. There will be two lines. 1 for Amateur participants and 1 for Professional participants
8:55am – 9:15am: (Listen for the Air Horn)
Players Meeting and Announcements
9:30am:
First Round (TD will blast the air horn twice for 2-minute warning, 1 blast after for start)
Lunch Break After First Round:
Last card will have 30 minutes for lunch or per Tournament Director’s discretion
Second Round:
To be announced by the Tournament Director or by 1:30pm (TD will blast the air horn twice for 2-minute warning, 1 blast after for start)
Awards/Recognition:
30-45min after last card is turned in or per the discretion of the Tournament Director
Course Rules:
1. It is the responsibility of the participant to know the course layout and have a clear understanding of the PDGA rules and Competition Manual. Questions are allowed prior to the start of the event or each round.
2. All participants in this event will acknowledge that there are walking paths that intersect with the disc golf course. Signs will be posted but if park patrons are utilizing the walking paths please respectfully wait for them to pass or utilize a spotter to ensure safety. This is a park with a disc golf course not the other way around.
3. All parking lots, public authorized roadways and water are out of bounds, mark your lie 1 meter inbounds with a mini marker and assess one penalty stroke.
4. There are no mandatories on the course.
5. It is the responsibility of the player to watch their throw, but it is appropriate for all players to assist with spotting for their card mates. If a player is searching for their disc, ALL the players on the card must assist, and a 3-minute clock/timer MUST be used. After 3 minutes if the disc cannot be found that player must return to their previous lie and assess 1 penalty stroke. Please utilize a spotter on any hole which you deem necessary (2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 17 are potential holes).
6. No 2-meter rule.
7. Each player is responsible for verifying their score prior to turning the score card into tournament central. Incorrect scores will be assessed a penalty per the guidelines set by the PDGA. Groups have no more than 30 minutes after the completion of their round to turn in a verified score card. Please ensure the card is totaled with a numerical score. Slashes or +/- is not considered a numerical total. UDisc may be used.

To answer the question which everyone has been asking. Yes, both the Treeze and Breeze tournaments will be taking place on the scheduled dates listed on www.discgolfscene.com.
June 27, 2020 – Treeze located at Lums Pond State Park
June 28, 2020 – Breeze located at Brandywine Creek State Park

Per the PDGA I will be sending out an email which will include:
1. Tournament Guidelines and Guidelines pertaining to COVID-19
2. Waiver of Acknowledgement
3. Specifics regarding Tournament Procedures & Tournament Play
4. Player Conduct

This is a new world for tournament play, there are a lot of unknowns and THIS WILL NOT BE PERFECT. I would respectfully ask that any guidelines or tournament procedures that are provided are followed. I would like to continue to make this about the competitors, competition in Delaware and our community. That is my goal and what is important to me.

Prior to the event or day prior I will be hosting a players meeting most likely through FACEBOOK Live or another means as we draw closer, provide prior to that meeting a program with course rules, layout, tournament procedures on and off the course, and expectations for player conduct.

As a favor to me what I will ask is that this has been a bumpy road and very stressful with the planning to ensure that everyone has a good time and is safe. I would ask that you keep this about disc golf and not about anything else. To put it simple…Check the drama, politics and opinion at the door. Keep it off the course, the event and out of the parking lot for two days.

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday DDG
I am sure everyone has been wondering when this announcement would be coming our or happening at all. Before going any further, I would like to thank our partners who work at the State Parks for coordinating, guiding and sharing pertinent information to ensure everyone is safe and the public's well being is in the fore front of our current global situation. Thank you, Mathew Smith, Shawn Heacock and all the other associates at the parks.
As of today, we have decided to postpone the 2020 Treeze and Breeze events which have been scheduled for April 25th and 26th. These will be rescheduled for either, (A) a later date or (B) continue to happen as scheduled if the restrictions are lifted.
I will be communicating closely with Mathew Smith (Assistant Superintendent of Brandywine State Park) regarding the rescheduling of these events if we move in that direction. As of now I will be altering the dates of the events on discgolfscene to:
Treeze – June 6, 2020
Breeze – June 7, 2020
THESE ARE TENTATIVE DATES. If they do become concrete, I do understand that there may be conflicts with other events you may wish to attend. I will assume that all registered competitors are interested in attending still unless I am notified otherwise. Please feel free to contact me if you wish to withdraw and would like a full refund.
It is important to keep in mind that there are a lot of uncertainties right now and I will not know if these dates are set or will be rescheduled again.
