Congratulations to Art Schorn of Twin Lakes for winning the Big Freeze Ice Bowl.
Clay Ebertowski of Rochester won a sudden-death playoff on Hole 2 to break a tie and capture second place, giving Andy Richardson of Albert Lea third place.
Jared Johnson of Albert Lea defeated Matt Sime of Alden in a sudden-death playoff on Hole 2 to break a tie and capture fourth place.
CTP prizes were Ching Genesis drivers. There were four CTPs. Jared Johnson won two. Matt Sime won one. Deric Moore of Albert Lea won one.
This ice bowl actually had ice! Players enjoyed the challenge of play disc golf on various surfaces: grass, snow and lake ice. Hole 5 was a major challenge because of the wind coming across the ice. The discs, if thrown normally, would roll back to shore. But if players could shoot them low and on the surface, without hitting bumps, the discs wouldn't lift up. Basically, everyone had to learn to throw a new way, usually with discs with less natural lift.
