First, I would like to thank Bill and Norma from Breakin Chains Disc Golf Supplies for helping secure this tournaments approval by the Dover Parks and Rec Dept. and for being our vendor for our amateur payouts. Big thank you to the Parks and Rec Dept. for allowing us to have our Tournament. The biggest
THANK YOU of all to the Bellamy Tag League and all of the local community for all you guys do to keep the course in tip-top shape, especially
Will Marshall and
Coop Coopington your efforts do not go unnoticed.
This will be a 2 round PDGA Sanctioned C-Tier Tournament held on Saturday, July 25 at Bellamy Park DGC in Dover, NH. This Tournament is also part of the New Hampshire Disc Golf Club's Live Free and Drive Tour (LFDT) and is the 5th stop of the 2020 season.
If you don't know what the LFDT is or what it is all about... Have you been living under a Roc? This is stop #5! The LFDT is essentially a season long points series held through various tournaments in NH (and 1 in MA this year! (Clement Farm, Haverhill, MA (I will argue all day and bring it up on GPS that 15s Basket is FIRMLY in Mass))). You can find more info on the LFDT at NHDiscGolf.org or find me at a tournament and ask me, if its in NH I'm probably there.
Attention Lady Golfers I just found a button... that lets me waive the $10 non-PDGA member fee for female divisions! Do you know what that means? That extra $10 fee that may have been holding you back from signing up for a PDGA tournament is not a good enough excuse to not come out and have a great time with us at the Bellamy Park Championship!
Payouts will be the PDGA standard 40% deep to Pro Divisions paid out in cash. Amateur divisions will pay 45% in Breakin Chains Gift Certificates redeemable at both their location, one being right in the heart of Bellamy Park.
Don't see the division you want to play in listed? Sign up in a division that is close to the one you are looking for so you don't miss out on the spot and send me a message. I will be able to switch it over to your desired division.
Dependent on what the current state and local guidelines are as the tournament date approaches we
WILL be swapping cards for the 2nd round to have lead cards. Please be aware of this as you make your decision to register.
The Course Layout for the Tournament is still TBD based on other events in July/August and a conversation with William Marshall of Bellamy Tag League fame. I will update this section as I know more.
What I can tell you about the layout is that hole 5
WILL have a double Mando and Hole 11
WILL be an Island Shot!! AND Hole 18 will be a Mandatory Roller!?! (That last one is a joke, but now it has me thinking if that could be a thing??) Hole 5 will have a drop zone designated closer to the Mando (50% PDGA rules/50% hoping players don't rack up strokes missing the Mando more than once) and Hole 11 will have a Drop zone just outside the Island.
The course will be all set up in the tournament configuration no later than 3 pm Thursday, July 23. Want to get a PDGA rated practice round in on the Layout? Breakin Chains will be holding a Flex-Start C-Tier the day prior on Friday, July 24. Click the link for more information:

There will be Cash CTPs both rounds. $3 of the CTP buy in to each round per CTP buy-in. they will be different holes each round. This should give everyone a fair chance at getting some Cash for a great throw.
Ca$h CTPs broken down by division as follows:
1.) Mixed Pro Divisions (MPO, MP40 etc.)
2.) All FP Divisions (FPO, FP40 etc.), MA1, Mixed Amateur Age Protected Divisions (MA40, MA50 etc.)
3.) MA2
4.) MA3
5.) Yes the "M" in MPO and MA stands for "Mixed" not "Men"
This break down is subject to change between now an July 23, but I feel it strikes a decent balance in competitiveness and cash value
50/50 Raffle will be tickets will be sold during event check-in. 50% of ticket sales will go to the winning ticket holder and 50% goes to boost LFDT Finale Bonus/Points Series Payouts. (Finale Bonus Payouts only available to LFDT members w/at least 1 prior 2020 LFDT event. Sign up today!!)
Where does your money go you ask? Here is what your money goes to pay for:
$5 Greens fees (-$50 from total to pay for PDGA event Sanctioning Fee /-$?? from total Park Permit Fees)
$2 PDGA C-Tier Fee
$1 LFDT Fee
$0 Anyone's Pocket
Remainder to Payouts for your Division
P.S. this is basically how just about every tournament breaks down so Higher Buy-In=High Payouts... The More You Know
P.S.S. The $8 in fees is also why the Buy-in is random looking number like $53 or $38. I like working with rounded numbers. They makes it waaay easier doing payouts.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you at the Bellamy Park Championship. I hope I at least entertained you a little through this entire rigamarole.

With the sanctioning fee being a flat $50 and not knowing how many people would sign up for the tournament I couldn’t decide it evenly among an unknown # of participants. My choice to say “greens fees”, perhaps that’s not the best term to use. I was also unsure until maybe yesterday how much the Parks Department wanted in greens fee/permit fees. If they had asked for more than $5/player it would all be out of my pocket. The remaining cash will go to the Bellamy Tag League, who I believe does a great job keeping the park looking and playing great.
