It really all depends on how many people register then we assign people into brackets based on their tag number. All matches are 9-hole match play until the final match which is 18 holes. So it's entirely possible for someone to show up and only get to play fives holes before they are sent home packing. Or they could spend the entire day there if they play well enough. There is not much stoppage between matches so that we can complete everything in a single day.

So the first to win 5 holes in a 9-hole match is the winner rather than lowest score after 9 holes? Also, does everyone start on hole 1 so that each match plays the same layout?

Well the best out of nine holes. In match play you just count who won a hole by completing the holes in fewer throws. By way of example Player A gets a three on the first hole and Player B gets a four. Player A has won that hole and now has a one hole advantage over the other player. The next ho ... more

Well the best out of nine holes. In match play you just count who won a hole by completing the holes in fewer throws. By way of example Player A gets a three on the first hole and Player B gets a four. Player A has won that hole and now has a one hole advantage over the other player. The next hole both players get threes so that hole pushes. So now the Player A has a one hole advantage over Player B with only seven holes to play.

So it is conceivable for a match to last as few as five holes but could last longer if no player has an advantage after nine holes of play. After nine holes it becomes a sudden death playoff.

Matched players will be scatted around the course for each round. The goal however is avoid anyone just playing the front or the back entirely. Final round will start on hole 1.
